Until they start taking away one week of wages this fine-system wont have any effect at all...

I agree. They need to come up with ways to stop teams from taking a fine and a flag to knock peeople out of games.

Percentages would be better. 10% of the game check would hurt more.

It was a tough hit, but would we be saying what we're saying if Pollard made a hit similar to Sanders? I bet there'd be a lot of "he knocked the piss outta him" comments.

IMO, it just depends on which referee you get on gameday. The crew in the Pack and Cards game were hardly calling anything similar. Fitz was basically mowing over his defenders with no flags and Rodgers to a serious shot to the head from Dansby (or Berry. Can't remember). My kinda crew!

I'm rambling, but I think I said my thoughts on the subject. :)

there was a couple of really hard hits in the Cards-Pack game yesterday. the way these safeties are just teeing off on these receivers when they are vulnerable, it's probably only a matter of time before someone seriousy gets hurt again.

They could suspend them for a certain number of plays, like a penalty box in hockey. That might make them think about it a little more. But of course the NFLPA wouldn't go for that, since it wouldn't give the player a chance to fight it.

That's a pretty interesting idea actually.

I think it could work. You get 15 yards, Automatic 1st down, and the responsible player sits out for X amount of plays, then apply a fine later on.
