DULUTH, Ga. - An angry New Orleans Saints fan shot two San Francisco 49ers fans in a restaurant parking lot Saturday evening shortly after his team lost the NFL divisional playoff game, police said.
Donald Ray Ayro, 31, reportedly became upset with two 49ers fans while watching the game at an Applebee's restaurant. New Orleans lost, 36-32.
One of the two San Francisco boosters, Corey Adams, told CBS Affiliate WGCL that Ayro made a comment he would be back for them, and left the restaurant.
According to police, when the men were leaving Ayro met them in the parking lot and began shooting. Christopher Middleton was shot in the stomach and transported to the hospital in critical condition, WGCL reports. Adams suffered a minor wound to the head. He was treated at the scene and released.
Ayro fled the scene but Gwinnett County Police caught up with him a short time later. He is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and being a felon in possession of a firearm

Maybe attempted murder? I would think that would be a more serious charge and would stick.

Damn, what's up with sports fans these days??

Death penalty should take place in this.

Shooting two people over who has the better football team is just so pathetic on so many levels.

I don't know which would suck WORSE:

    1. Being shot because of a football game in which you weren't a participant

    or

    2. Dying knowing that your last meal was from Applebee's.

Hell if I knew I was going to die after my last meal, I'd shoot someone trying to bring me INTO an Applebee's.

Its sad when the players who actually participated can realize "Its only a game" but the fans cannot

I just can't understand why people are willing to throw their lives away or change someone else's life completely over some discussion about the affliation of different sports teams.

I agree completely. I just can't imagine that someone who could make a decision like this (premeditated by the way, as he left and came back) could ever be released back in to society either

Stupid people are reproducing at unprecedented rates, often subsidized by our tax dollars. Perhaps a world war is in order to cull the herd?

Stupid. I'd like to think that would never happen at a Texans game. Mostly because I don't want to get shot.

I mean really! WTF is wrong with people?!?!

I can imagine the guy gets to prison, and someone ask, "what you in here for?"

"This punk started talking smack about the Saints, I had to take him out!"

He's gonna get treated real well for that. :bat: [IMG]

I'm betting booze is usually a factor.

I've seen grown men (with kids and wives) get into fistfights over Batman vs. Superman:mariopalm:
