who has caught your attention so far? surprised or dissapointed?

of course I'll start things off with Levi Brown. he's started everydown so far & showed improvement already from week one. in the Cardinals win Leinart was not sacked & Edgerrin rushed for over 5 yards a carry, 128 yards.

how about Adrian Peterson? Averaging 84.5 yds rushing & 22.4 yds receiving thats a healthy 106.9 per game.

don't forget defense & Patrick Willis of the 49ers. 14 solo, 5 assisted & one fumble. compared to last years droy DeMeco Ryans 15 solo, 1 assisted & one fumble.

pretty much draft board favorites from last year all proving worthy of the lofty expectations assigned them :user:

ps. did not include Amobi because we cover him on the Texans thread, but I must say he has been very impressive so far & is coming along nicely too :)

Biggest disapointment so far has been Dwyane Jarrett. He hasn't even seen any playing time and from the looks of the last game if Colbert and Carter keep at their current pace they could really use the help. Releasing Keyshawn is really looking stupid right now(how often am i gonna say that?).

Ted Ginn is like 5th in the league in punt return AVG, doesn't mean much after 2 games, of course. but neither does any of the other players' performance.

I havn't gotten a chance to watch much around the league and that really dissappoints me!

Levi Brown has impressed me, cardinals offense has sooo much potential.
Patrick Willis has looked like a pro bowl veteran.
I only saw Laron Landry for a little bit last game, he had great timing to knock the ball out at the end of the game against the eagles.
Amobi Okoye was dominate at Carolina.
    Adrian Peterson is simply amazing.
I've been more impressed with Brady Quinn than I have with Jamarcus Russell

I havn't gotten to see any of Darrelle Revis w/ the Jets. Any body know how he's done? For some reason I don't think he has stood out very much and I was hoping for him a little.

Browns/Bengals game- Leon Hall got burned a couple times for at least 1-2 TD's...but then again who on defense didn't...jeez that was high scoring.

Jon Beason is fast and hits hard.

And lastly, Kasey Studdard impressed me in preseason. I love his aggressiveness, esp. during run blocking...he lays some wood!

I really really really hope Jacoby Jones steps up his game on both offense and ST against the Colts!!

Marshawn Lynch. According to my Bills friend, he's the only bright spot on the entire team this year.

Gaines Adams is the worst player on the Bucs right now. holy lord he looks completely overwhelmed on every single play. Mario Williams, with his bad foot last year, didn't play anywhere near as bad as Adams is playing right now.

Ted Ginn caught his first pass yesterday. his kickoff returns are starting to look great. i can feel a TD pretty soon out of him.

You have to give props where they're due. Tony Ugoh held up pretty well this week.

I thought he clearly outplayed Mario. Mario didn't do too well on the other side yesterday....Polian is one of the finest talent evaluators in the NFL.

Obviously Mario didn't get any sacks vs. the Colts but I do recall him knifing into the backfield on several runs and bull rushing Ugoh into Manning before putting him on his backside on one occasion. Ugoh looked good and held his own but Mario beat him several times as well. If Manning wasn't able to get rid of the ball so quickly the protection wouldn't look so dominant. Combine a good OL, a great receiving corp, a great offensive scheme, and most importantly a HoF QB to run it all and as history has shown even the best pass rushing defenses in the league are going to have trouble applying any pressure. Last time I recall seeing Manning look truly flustered in the pocket was against the Steelers in the AFC Championship game two years ago I believe it was.

    Mario owned Ugoh.

I'm not sure what game was being watched, but Ugoh was way overmatched.

he was the one player I had really hoped that would fall to us, but then I thought Amobi would have been selected as Levi was (before the 10th pick). guess it all works out :)

DE Jamaal Anderson has had a lackluster season thus far for the Falcons. It seems like the game is a little fast for him at this point. He's registered only 6 tackles so far with no sacks. Atlanta made a mistake by taking him instead of Okoye at #8, but that's fine by me.:coolb:

I know & I got lucky for the first time with the Texans

this was put together the week of the 07 draft. The reason I re-posted it here was that you can see all the 1st rd. picks where they went, how they ranked & generally what the internet pool thought prior to this season, now we can judge the early results as they come in which was the purpose of this thead to begin with. this was not a Mock Draft this was a top 32 board.

    thing that jumps out-

    - weak cb class it was, partially a reason why the Texans did not address that need until the 4th rd. when they traded back.
    - Safetys all seem to be solid, Nelson, Landry, Merriweather & Ross.
    - great tackle class besides the top two (Joe Thomas & Levi Brown) Joe Staley is starting RT for 49'ers & as we saw last weekend Tony Ugoh is protecting Peyton Mannings blind side. interesting note: both Colts & Niners traded up to address the tackle position & both players are starters.
