Just read this on ESPN Insider:
    http://insider.espn.go.com/insider/rumorcentral?sport=nfl&incoming=1

Mar. 19 - Several people close to Ricky Williams believe the retired Dolphins running back might be considering a comeback to the NFL, the Miami Herald reports.
Williams – who continues to take classes at a school for holistic medicine in Northern California – spoke with coach Nick Saban last week and said he stopped smoking marijuana more than a month ago. Williams also is expected to stop his legal battle with the Dolphins over an $8.6 million judgment the team has against him for breach of contract.

Saban has left the door open to Williams' return since taking over as coach in January, saying he is interested in Williams if the former player has ''value'' to the team. Whether that value is by way of trade or on-field performance is not clear.

Under terms of the NFL substance abuse policy, Williams can't return to the Dolphins until July or else he would face a one-year suspension from the league. As it is, Williams may still face a four-week suspension and a four-week fine of his salary if he comes back.

I'm assuming by "value" they mean trade value, because there's no way Seau, Thomas, and Taylor want him back on the team...

:offtopic , but does anyone remember Jason Taylor dressing as Ricky Williams for Halloween...LoL that was classic...

Id imagine if he were to return to the NFL, he could be used as trade bait..he would only be eligible to play next season because he turned down the offer to be reinstated and only serve 4 games.....I wouldnt mind seeing him back

I find it interesting since that story on 20/20 where he said he was never planning to stop smoking marijuana....I guess he must have found himself or something. Or his money ran out...LOL...Guess marijuana has been too expensive for him. :howdy:

well after losing the court case and owing the dolphins 8.6 million dollars that you know he doesn't have anymore what other option was there...he has to return to the game just so he can start working off the debt...he won't be a dolphin though...apparently he won't be a raider either now that they have signed jordon...i could see him being a cardinal if they can't work out the trade for travis henry

Frankly I agree with Saban, but this is also exactly what he needs to say to get Williams interested in coming back. I could have completely understood Ricky demanding a trade or sitting out after those two seasons--the Dolphins were abusing him. Of course he did it primarily for drugs so that is much less sympathetic.
