    that is a wild situation

I remember when BK shoes( British Knights) was advertised in the '80's and where i was from ,in small central texas, I thought nothing of it if I wore them (never had a pair either) but thought they were like Nike,Rebook,Adidas etc, I thought Someone told me if you wore those in L.A. .. it meant Blood Killer and part of what gangs wore.

Don't know if it was true or not, but instances like that different parts of the country have different meanings or no meanings .. It has got me

Yes it is true that BK is an acronym for Blood Killer and those British Knights shoes further emphasized that.

It's an interesting article; especially if you have been around gang life and then seen some of the same signs on tv and displayed on various tattooed athletes.

I know a kid who works in one of the warehouses at the airport. He's got a tattoo of the Atros logo, and it almost cost him his life. He did not know it, but apparently the Astros logo has been adopted by a gang. The rival gang saw his tat and almost went after him. He said after lots of explaining and near begging, they let him go.

    Scary, though.

Concerned that some players might be flashing the hand signals of street gangs, the NFL has hired experts to examine game tapes to look for gestures, the Los Angeles Times reported.Mike Ahlerich, the NFL's vice president of security, told the Times "there have been some suspected things we've seen."Ahlerich told the newspaper that the NFL has warned its players about the influence of gangs and organized crime. He added that the league has stepped up its reminders since Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was gunned down in 2007.

Whenever I see a player throw up a gang sign or a gesture I always wonder how many people actually catch it or if the NFL even knew....

I guess they'll find out now...
