Bush Mania Resumes at Saints Rookie Camp

By BRETT MARTEL AP Sports Writer
    © 2006 The Associated Press

METAIRIE, La. — The public wasn't invited, so curious Saints fans crouched down near the ground or balanced on their toes to peer through shrubs and a chain-link fence to get a first look at Reggie Bush wearing black and gold.

What they saw during Saturday's opening of Saints rookie camp might have inspired more thoughts of voodoo curses than gridiron glory. Bush started limping early in the first practice session and missed several drills while working with a trainer in an attempt to loosen up a strained hamstring before rejoining practice.

He tightened up again during the afternoon session and spent much of the time watching practice with one knee on the field. But coach Sean Payton hardly seemed worried.

"He's been sitting in a limousine too long," Payton quipped, referring to the star treatment Bush has received since turning pro and racking up endorsement deals. "He's fine. These guys all, in his case certainly, are coming from schedules that may not have allowed them to stay in the same shape that they normally would be in-season. He'll be fine."

Payton said coaches chose to rest Bush in the afternoon in the hopes he'd feel well enough to participate more on Sunday.

"It's all right. I just tweaked it a little bit," Bush said, adding that he intended to practice Sunday if the trainers approved. "As far as I'm concerned, I'm ready to go."

BTW he didn't practice Sunday either:crutch:

For the love of god, why are people making such a big deal of this? Number 1, its already been posted on this board about 10 times and Number 2, he tweaked his hamstring. He missed 1 day of a rookie minicamp. I fail to see why this is so important that it has to flood our boards!

This could happen to anybody. What it does show many for the first time is that Bush is not Superman.

Do you honestly want to reopen this debate again? I'm sorry, but unless you are an NFL GM, player, or talent evaluator, your evaluation isn't going to change any minds

He's going to get more than his hamstring tweaked.

Nice gesture but $50k to Reggie Bush is like me tossing a quarter into the Salvation Army bucket. Read about what Donovan Morgan has done recently - and balance it with his limited means - if you want a good story that should hit home.

Yeah, Houstonians are a bunch of a-holes. Per a Louisianan. Sweet. I said it was a nice gesture. What do you want - us to start cooing over him like he's Vince Young or something?

What part of 'nice gesture' do you not comprende?

Just keep in mind that I'm not the one going on others' message boards and lecturing others with senseless and unwarranted rants. If that's your school I'm happy for you.

    Who's trolling here?

More importantly, with your character attacks, it would help your cause if you acted of high character. And I don't think open trolling will get that point out.

Topic I liked how Payton threw that subliminal at Bush.

You've got to understand this has nothing to do with the Saints..

I'm sure you know some folks 'round here aren't too happy with us passing on Reggie. Others, are just saying, "See, Reggie is human...... it's no big deal we passed on him. Calm down, and let's move on."

Nothing for you to get upset about.

no lie. that little weas talked his way outta houston. so yeah, there's not a lot of love here any more. He can tweak his hammies from here to eternity for all we care. Gotta believe his agent told him NO will be LA is under 48 months. It's so obvious.

From what I understand, it wasn't the fans that made the Oilers move, it was some snake-like monster who was named Bud....

P.S., On the subject of team relocations, good luck to the Saints for getting their transfer processed.

And I thought Cowboy trolls sucked in the worst way. Thanks for proving me wrong.

It is MRI spin. We won't know the truth until it is glaringly apparent. He said 'no prob, be back tomorrow" on the day of the injury....now another week? I know how this goes...
But please take your rhetoric and hate to another place, we have had enough of this crap here. Go love RB in the appropriate spot.

    It ain't here.

Take your stick and stir a pot elsewhere.

If the Saints moves to LA good luck on ever getting another team. There's a reason why Houston got one only a few years after the Oilers left.
