Yuck. That's a lot of money for him.
Probably will stick around to mentor Locker, Newton, or Luck in the next few years
Wow! I guess they expect McNabb to get in shape to run the 2 minute offense in the future.
??? what is up with the Redskins? Crazy
Its not even April 1st.... What a bizarre deal
So if it's only 40 guaranteed, they could let him play 2 of those years and then cut him for free... so it's not all that bad. They can keep him if he's still worth it, or cut him if he pulls a JaMarcus Russel.
That is the incentative to max the deal.....
What a bizarre turn of events. To go from last week where the dude was not qualified to run a two minute drill for a variety of reported reasons, to giving him a fat contract extension, the Shanahans need to figure it out.
Worst. Deal. Ever.
I think you're right. Although the Haynesworth deal rivals it. At the time at least Haynesworth seemed like a good investment.
Ironically the same guy was behind both deals...
This is very odd, very bazarre ? Maybe the explanation is that it's owner Snyder making personnel decisions on his own and throwing money around without the consent or even knowledge of his HC ?
Per a guest (don't recall who, sorry) on Colin Cowterd's BSPN radio this a.m. there's only 10mil new money. The contract is heavily backloaded with several escape clauses for the Skins. Said all the details should be forthcoming in a few day. FWIW
Pulls a Russel?
I can't remember JaMarcus having a hugely productive career? I'm sure if McNabb was converting to the way of the purple drank, then it'd have happened already.
I was referring to him being out of shape. Apparently he wasn't fit to run a 2-minute drill a couple weeks ago.
Looks like it's only 8mil in guaranteed $
It's just a vote of confidence for mcnabb and a bit of a PR move. It also reaffirms himself as a leader in the locker room. Some job security, if you will
Vick made about 25mil more guaranteed on his next deal. Dude is a UFA. Unprecedented
