AFC South: Colts, Texans, Titans, Saints
NFC South: Falcons, Panthers, Buccaneers, Jaguars
Might want to switch Dallas to the AFC South and the Colts to the NFC East if we're strictly talking about geographical region.
i don't want those floaters to sully our division..
No, Dallas is where they are supposed to be with their true rivals.
The teams in the AFC South and NFC South really had no rivals so the switch would have been easy. A trip every year to New Orleans would have been cool.
I was just talking about the whole South team being in the South...Indiana isn't too south.
Anyway you slice it I don't have too many complaints...a trip to N.O. sure would have been fun to make each year!!
i think it's perfect right now.
sorry buddy... i know that was some twang in your open wound, but i just couldn't resist...
kastofsna - 0-10 sucks, but things are gonna turn around. It's tough winning without a good QB, just ask any of us Texans fans. In that division, you could be in the Wild Card mix as early as next year.
as for realignment, I would have gone new school and changed some things.
Switch Ravens in the NFC East for the Cowboys in the AFC South.
NFC East - Ravens, Skins, Eagles, Giants
NFC North - No changes
NFC South - Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Carolina, Tennessee
NFC West - Seattle, San Fran, Arizona, LA Jaguars
AFC East - No changes
AFC North - Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Cincinnati
AFC South - Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, St. Louis
AFC West - No changes
The only team that could block that move would be Dallas. If a vote is carried out for realignment, the teams that have left their original city do not own a veto power. Basically, if you could sell Dallas on it and get enough votes, you could get it done.
imagine playing Dallas 2 times a year and all the fans travelling up there on an annual basis. same thing with NO. It could turn the AFC South into a NFL version of the SEC and all its fans that travel and follow the team. The only place that is more than a few hours away is St.Louis.
as for the Jaguars, they have no business in jacksonville. it's just simple mathematics. Bring em to LA and make them join a new version of the NFC West. Uniting the pacific coast could have similar fan synergy as well with the existing Pac-10 rivalries and road trips.
i fell the Ravens would embrace a move to the NFC East and then get teh regional rivalries v. Washington and Philly. If they don't want to move, then force them. They stole their team (after their own was stolen) so they can't whine.
The Rams would benefit from this move as well. but they stole their team (after their own was stolen)
The Colts would get hosed a bit but they stole their team, so who cares.
I would love for the Texans to play the Cowboys and Saints two times a year. It's our ARKLATEX!!
thanks for the support on a subject i didn't bring up or commented on.
