There was an interesting Twitter exchange this evening between Robert Mathis and his one-time Colts teammate Raheem Brock. It went a little something like this:

Brock: Anyone know a nice place to eat in houston besides pappadeux? Lol some good seafood

    Mathis: wtf....u in houston mane???

Brock: don't kno yet! We will see!

Perhaps I am reading too much into this. Perhaps I am tired after a VERY long day and I'm seeing things that simply aren't there.

Then again, the Texans will be without the cheating Brian Cushing for four games to start their 2010 season. Also, superstud Mario Williams is getting a second opinion on his "hip issue." Looks like the Texans are in need of some help along the d-line. Brock's just as good an option as someone like former Bills pass rusher Aaron Schobel. So, I guess after looking at all those variables, a Brock to Houston signing makes some sense.

We'll keep an eye out on this potential story if anything develops. Brock has not signed with another team since the Colts unexpectedly released him back in March.

I have to admit, it would just be weird to see Raheem Brock in a Texans uniform. Really, really weird.

Schobel wants to skip out on camp so he is going to wait to "decide" if he's going to retire or not until camp breaks. I wouldn't mind having a player like Brock here.

He's supposedly going to have a workout after practice today and is already there, per McGobbler.

I'm kinda confused here. Would he be a DE or a DT for us? IMO, we've got about a half dozen players just like him. I don't think I'd like this signing unless there's something about one of our players we don't know about.

His middle name is Fukwan, so he's got that going for him.

Good player to have on your roster as he can play inside and outside the trenches (DT/DE). Having played for the "enemy" is also a good thing as he might have some secrets to tell us about Manning :heh:

This might just be telling us something about the health of Mario but I hope not.

I don't know about that. They cleared him to practice and play in the game this Saturday. I think if there was any concern about his health, they would have him sit. We've got 4 weeks until the real games start. They would use that time to let him heal if they thought it was warranted. JMHO.

Bullman has been solid depth and is younger than both, I don't know about all that.

    This

    Although I like Bulman,

Schobel and Brock would be a huge upgrade over Bulmam and Nading. IMHO

I cant see Bulman or Nading getting 10 + sacks like Schobel.

    Agreed.

    My rankings:

    1. Schobel
    2. Bulman
    3. Brock
    4. Naeding

Two out of the four, with my top 2 being Schobel and Bulman. I honestly don't know much about Brock. Schobel? He can work the trenches and get past people. He's pesky and clever

Yeah Bulman is 27 (will turn 28 during the season, Oct) and Brock is 32 (turned 32 in june)...

That's 4 yrs. and some change of a difference...So yeah, Bulman is younger

But if we are trying to make the play-offs and be a team in serious contention for super bowls, then guys like Bulman will eventually have to be faded out...I'd like to see what he does in pre-season, but from what I've seen Bulman has not really gotten any better since he's gotten here so it's not like he has a whole lot of upside at age 28...

Of course that's just my opinion...
