Pro Bowl Rosters to be announced Tues. PM

Although Schaub deserves it, the pro bowl qbs will probably be

Manning
Brady
Rivers.

And i would've said JJ could have a shot as a return specialist, but Cribbs has that in the bag now.

Cushing and Demeco both deserve to make it, and i could see Pollard maybe getting in as a reserve. OD would have been a lock had he stayed healthy.

Locks (even with the politics): AJ and Cushing

Shaub "should" be in with Rivers and Manning, but might lose out to Tom "Hollywood" Brady.

Ryans "should" be in but depends what they do with Lewis, Harris and Morrison. Who knows if they will carry 5 or 6 LBs...but wouldn't be surprised if they list Bullock on the team becuase of his Picks and Deflections even though he is hurt.

As much as I would like to see Pollard on the list, I don't think he makes in in unless Dawkins decides not to play. Branch has a lot of tackles for OAK, but clearly that is becuase their D sucks, he's done nothing on the passing D.

Bell, Wilson and Brown aren't going to turn it down if they get selected.

I think AJ and Cushing are definitely in. Schaub should be in but he may only make it as an alternate. If not for the injury OD would certainly have made it. I think Ryans is a good bet to make it as well. I think Pollard might be named as a 2nd or 3rd alternate but won't get in unless there is an injury.

Tom "Hollywood" Brady has one more TD and two less picks than Schaub, but I'm with you.

He also has 22 less plays over 20 yards. I figure leading the NFL in passing ought to be good for something.

I'm not saying Schaub isn't deserving. I'm saying most people are too lazy to really analyze and they'll go straight to TD's v. INT's. I'm completely with you; 60 plays over 20 is hugely impressive.

Considering the Pro Bowl is basically a popularity contest, I reckon Brady, Manning and Rivers will be the the first 3 chosen. Schaub will get chosen as an alternate.

In all honesty, AJ is the only lock we have. Cushing, Meco, and Schaub all deserve as well, and Mario could get in due to popularity, but we'll just wait and see.

Actually, there are only 3 true 4-3 DE's in the AFC that are ahead of Mario in sacks. Freeney (13.5), Schobel (10) and Mathis (9.5). Dumervil, Woodley, Harrison, Banta-Cain and Porter are all 3-4 OLBs. Not that that matters or anything.

I like the way on the NFL.com's home page they have a story showing Miles Austin, Wes Welker and Matt Schaub with a caption that says "Pro Bowlers?"....

And BTW, right below that is a place to vote for Cush for Rookie of the week.

Cribbs, Joe Thomas in for Cleveland

Bryant McKinnie DT Vikings

Center Shaun O'Hara, Giants

All flying in per PFT.com

Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson, defensive end Mario Williams and linebackers DeMeco Ryans and Brian Cushing were selected Tuesday to play for the AFC in the Pro Bowl

Johnson, who will make his franchise-record fourth appearance, was named a starter for the Jan. 31 game, which moves from Honolulu to Miami.

Quarterback Matt Schaub, wide receiver/kick returner Jacoby Jones and fullback Vonta Leach were named alternates

No Bengals made the Pro Bowl.
:foottap:

Even though they won their division and have, probably, the comeback player of the year in Benson.

I hope this pisses them off so badly that they take it out on the Jets like Hakeem did David Robinson.

And don't take it out on us in two weeks. :kingkong:

Muh boy Leach was an alternate last year. I reckon he would've been a shoe in if our running game was worth a crap this season. As bad as our run game is this year, I'm happy to see him still get the props.

I knew Schaub would be an alternate due to only producing one season, unlike the 3 that made it.

As much of an asshat he might be, Rivers deserved to go.

While I am happy some Texans made the Probowl but color me about done with the game all together and ready to protest. No Jackson from the Chargers or that LB from the Redskins is just crazy IMO. A team with the best cornerback duo in the entire league did not have any players chosen to go to the Probowl. Too much of a name based vote going on in all three all star games in basketball, baseball, and football. I am so about done with all three of them that it's just unreal to me. Not to highjack this thread or anything but T. Mac has not even played in a singe game this season but he is still leading the voting to start in the NBA All Star Game just on his name alone. Are you freaking kidding me? The All Star Game in every sport that has one should be based on only single season stats not anything more or not anything less that's all. Instead it is just another money marketing thing based upon names that come about in years past JMO.

Just curious, over which guy: Chris Johnson, MJD or Ray Rice?

A HOU-TEX random comment:

I like watching Ray Rice play. Ever since watching him at Rutgers, it seems like he plays the game the "right way". Seems like a good dude too.

/End of a HOU-TEX random comment/

Aren't altenates only allowed to go only is someone on the roster gets hurt?

Or if a player declines to play. That's how VY got to the pro-bowl his rookie year. Manning, Brady, etc. stepped out of the game and he got in.

Personally I think there should be a hard rule like only the original roster are considered pro-bowlers or if you decline to play it doesn't count as a pro-bowl season.
