Not a QB, foolish in my opinion to ever take one with the first pick in the salary cap era.

I agree. Hard for me to pick, but let's say all draft picks, free agents and trades work out as expected. My thought is corner back. IMO that is a primo position that can cost you 7 points in about 4-5 seconds. My concern is even if pbuc has a better than avg year, do we sign him to the huge contract he'll want? If we do, what if 2006 was an aberration? I think most agree you can pick up safeties at lower rounds & the coaches seem ok with what we have. Other than QB, I think we have some depth at other spots. I'm ok with linebackers, but could use lower rounds to address if needed. That being said, I cannot i d the top 3 cbs that might be available out of college. I read in Chronic that Kubes want to pick another veteran cb now to come off the bench. That might change my choice but prolly not.

Sorry guys but Brady Quinn/Brian Brohm needs to step in and do what Carr didn't: get a winning record

Do not think I have to as Cincinnati has nothing to show for it at the moment by taking Palmer. The Steelers got a bargain with Ben. I am only speaking to the first pick of the draft. This is a pre emptive strike on the Domers and Brady Quinn.

I'd take Quinn with the first overall. The guy had 38 TDs last year for crying out loud.

Im not in love with brady quinn....could care less WHO they decide is the one...but it is the greatest need...I think you find the best talent at a position you need with the 1 pick, and take him.

That is swell, but that does not mean his game will transfer to the pros nor will it most likley transfer in years one or two. The cost outwieghs the production most often, let someone else assume the cost until you get the finished product and then outlay the cash.

Hopefully we are picking middle of the first round or later....I like the idea of picking up a talented DB.

Kind of early to be thinking about this kind of stuff. The season will reveal our greatest need, we will have plenty of time for evaluating that.

I would love to get a big hitter at safety or that cornerback from S. Carolina.

Agreed on the too early stuff, but its fun to see how the MB thinks percentage wise on where we should draft as of right now.

Dude, when will you "doesn't transfer to the pros" people ever quit? Why don't you just say that about everyone.

Hey Kaiser Toro, i don't think what Mario Williams did in college will transfer to the pros. Demeco either.

Why don't we just put all the college players names in a hat and draw randomly? Cause obviously what they did in college has nothing to do with the pros.

I mock reply with I don't think that Vince Young, Reggie Bush, AJ Hawk, Lendale White, Jay Cutler, Mercedes Lewis, Vernand Davis, Matt Linehart, and D'brickshaw Fergasun might not tranfer to the pros.

Also he doesn't make it definite his statement saying he WILL NOT make it in the pros, he's merely putting the thought out and saying college stats are no gaurantee of NFL success... look at Carr, and I digress.
