Peyton Manning really will have a rookie at LT this year

Mudd certainly didn't expect to toss Ugoh right into the fray when the Colts chose him four months ago. The master plan was to provide Ugoh some playing time at guard and maybe some snaps at left tackle in lopsided games while grooming him for the possibility of supplanting Glenn (who would've been in the final year of his contract this season) in 2008.
Now, the learning curve for Ugoh has been accelerated and training has become an on-the-job experience.

When long-time Colts LT Tarik Glenn said back in July he was going to retire,
many observers said it was just a ploy for a vet to skip TC, like Michael Strahan apparently is doing. Well Glenn was serious and IMO this is one of the biggest stories in Indy following its SB victory, but it has definitely been under reported.
BTW, Glenns successor Tony Ugoh is a Houston native who played his high school ball at Westfield HS.

I thought we would see Glenn "unretire" for the start of the season but so far it looks like the Colts will go into the season with a Rookie LT.
