Peter King has the Texans ranked 15th (actually tied with the Bucs) in his "The Fine Fifteen."

    Ahead of the Texans?

Six teams with worse records than the Texans, including the 3-5 Chargers, and three teams the Texans have beaten head-to-head; the Colts (5), Chiefs (12), and Raiders (14).

    No respect.

Maybe everytime he tunes into a Texans game, we're on defense?

I can understand ranking the Colts higher (until tomorrow), but the Chiefs just barely beat the Bills in overtime yesterday, and the Raiders are 4-4 with no significant wins. 1 of their 4 wins is against a team that is over .500

Honestly, I'm surprised we're ranked as high as that. This team has a horrific defense and our offense seems to be clicking in spurts. We are going to have to put up 35+ points to beat teams with a decent offense, because even they can still score at will. When they start to play with consistency, they can gain some respect....until then, the wins look more like lucky breaks.
I have been drinking the kool-aid for years, but this year just feels differently to me. I'm not all "rah-rah" all the time. It's hard to be that way when the fans show up to the games (and in their seats on time) and the players don't bother to "execute".

Basically, what he's saying is that the only team that we've beaten that we're actually better than was the Redskins.

It doesn't bother me where he's got us ranked, cuz I care less about rankings. I just don't care much for Peter King

    Blast!

I hope these rankings don't hurt us in the BCS standings at the end of the season!

Oh wait, this is the NFL, rankings don't mean Jack-Squat.

Exactly, plus everytime we are on everyone's "best" list we fall flat...I'm not sure if they buy into the hype (ala UT this year) or what.

So really who cares what anyone thinks about the team as long as they win!!

    GO TEXANS!!

If I wasn't a Texans fan and was solely an analyst, I'd agree with his take. Let's be honest here, we live and die by our offense. Our defense is simply not going to win any games, and the best we can really hope for is a bend-but-don't-break defense when we need a stop at the end of games. Our defense doesn't put consistent pressure on the pocket, and with a lack of pass rush, our weak secondary gets exploited and abused. Special teams is nothing special, so what we really have going for us is our potentially high-powered offense. And when the offense gets shut down by a solid defense, we become a one-dimensional team that's quite easy to beat.

I think alot of it comes down to these national talking heads not wanting to have egg on their face(book) so they play it safe to protect their image :cow:

I bet you tonight will be the first time this year that Peter King sees more than a quarter of the Texans playing. If the game has no inkling of Favre, NFC East or Brady, than Peter King has no worthwhile input.

We probably have the worst defense in the NFL. I'm surprised we are even ranked that high.

    THIS.

We are a sub-par offensive day from losing to any/every team in the NFL.

In all honesty, how good are we?

We can't move the ball on a good defense. We can't stop a poor offense. We've got no special teams. We do not force turnovers.

With the way we've been winning, we've got to continue to do that week in & week out to have do better than 2 for 4 (Skins/KC - Giants/Cowboys).

Worse of all...... there's no reason. We come out looking like gangbusters, running all over the Colts..... & our passing game is supposed to be among the best in the league...... but we can't stay on the field. It's not like the Chargers who march up & down the field & turn it over on some freak play......

Screw it....... we suck. Fingers crossed, we'll get better.

Which is the silver lining in all of this. We played well in one game this year, & we're 4-2.
