You can't read too much into the defense.....yeah they made plays, but lets remember...

Houston's D held the Colts down in the 1st half last week...

Houston's D held the Brown down this entire game....

What did the 1st half of the Colts game and this game have in common?

Dropped passes, dropped big 3rd down passes, and this game even had a dropped TD pass. Houston's D looks good when the other team shoots themselves in the foot. Braylon Edwards was Houston's best defensive player today.

i'm excited for the win but it's hard to give it to the texans - i dont think the browns could've done more to give the game away if they tried.

It felt like we were playing a doppleganger. The Browns outTexaned us. I'm glad we won but I've never seen two teams try to lose a game harder. There were bright spots with Mario, Adibi, Bennett, Dunta and some others but if anyone thinks this win changes anything in the big picture they are wrong.

Except for all the false starts and holding penalites.....other than that they kept Sage upright for the most part.

Good effort by the defense today. Richard Smith finally called a few blitzes. Go figure.. Will Kubiak please bench Petey Reeves for Christ's sake!!! Browns offense was horrible today which worked out great for our Texans. Still not satisfied with Smith. This game doesn't change anything about that. Still, the defense made plays and the Texans won the game. Attaboy Texans!

Raiders vs Texans 06 How can anybody forget the "suckbowl".

Check that game out.......this game doesn't even come close to that one.

True. But, the Texans offense rarely performs well against good defenses. Boils down to the Texans being one of the best of the bad teams.

Yeah , they dropped a lot of passes and two fumbles from a guy who almost never puts the ball on the ground .... The bad thing about a defensive showing like this from the Texans is it gives Dick Smith a breath , I was (sadly) hoping that the Browns would put up some big numbers with a QB in his third start with a broken finger .... suffocating any chance that Smith returns next season. A five turnover game in which the defense gives up 6 points is probably a Texans fans worst nightmare at this point.

I was thinking the same thing throughout most of the game.

Agreed, I am glad we won. what sticks out to me is the gaping holes that Lewis ran threw for some big gains..

Jags and Titans like to run the ball and play a little smash mouth.

I'm glad the Texans win the game , no doubt about that. But it makes me sick to think that if this defense somehow strings together several solid games we will see Smith return ..... Then again this was the Browns .... :gun:

I hate to say it, because he was a very high pick......but Okoye has been nothing but a huge liability on the field.

I don't know why we took two 300 pound DTs (I doubt Okoye even weighs that much) in the first round..(I do realize that TJ was drafted to be a 3-4 end, but still)...I want a space eater if we have to take another one high again.

This team would've been much better off with Patrick Willis flying around to the ball.

Despite as much dumb decisions this team has made I can't believe even they would be that dumb.........can they?

Lets put it this way....If Dick Smith returns as the D coordinator, I might contemplate taking the year off as a Texan fan and find something better to do with my time until he's gone.
