Not sure about that. The Replicans Opposition Party of Georgia was founded in 1991. I am trying to research what flag was being used at that time.

They obviously ripped off the Texans logo. Which is awesome that our logo is being used to represent a country. haha.

On the net you can get vector graphics of nfl logos, it isnt hard to edit them.

It isn't too hard to just make the vector graphics either. In fact it is ridicously simple to copy logos these days.

Flags of the World doesn't have it listed, although they have dozens of other flags, national and political, that look nowhere close to that one. My guess is they ripped it off from us and are using it as part of the new opposition movement that's happening there.

Maybe we could send them an invitation to Casserly's next draft party to make up?

Calm down buddy, I said I am doing some research to see what flag they used when they founded. Do you think they change their flag every week or something?

When you submit a logo to be registerted or trademark there is fair amount of research that goes into making sure the image submitted is unigue enough to be trademarked and that is does not infringe on another trademarked image. This gets fuzzy when images are used internationally, but I highly doubt that the Texans would have been issued their copywrite if the political party in Georgia had been using the logo in the picture since 91.

Also some journalist would have figured it out and written a story about it, espically if the Texans were in the wrong.

There is a girl in my office that is from Russia. She said the lettering is not Russian and is probably some type of Arabic.

She mentioned that Georgians are not very resourceful people. I guess she was saying it was probably lifted from somewhere.

    Who knows?

I find it kind of funny myself.

Also, if you click on the link in post #1, the caption says something about a party flag.

Just talked to a guy from another previous Soviet republic. Well, he said that it looked like the flag is more of a slogan flag, more than an official flag. Like someone at a rally with a sign reading, "Peace". He said that most likely someone saw the Texans logo, though it was cool and threw it on the flag. The Texans colors seem to be fit the Georgian Republican party colors as well. He says he will try to get more information though.

Either way I thought it was an interesting pic.

McClain just emailed me and said he's going to write about this in his next blog. I asked him to make sure dskillz got credit for finding it.

If I read it correctly, it said it was the flag of Georgia Republican opposition. Could be wrong though.
