I know these dont matter, but i would love to see us stay there or go back to number 1 for the rest of the season, as Atlanta is not a better team.
This loss will be a spot in the rear view mirror in a few weeks.

ATL will get exposed soon enough. I don't think there as good as their record indicates either & i thought this before our beat down sunday. They've struggled in the last few weeks to put away teams so i'm fully expecting that they'll get exposed eventually.....Plus, they play in the rugged NFC.

could care less about our power ranking though.

The team that everyone thinks is the best team has less of a chance of winning the Super Bowl than any other team. I'd rather drop to around 4 or 5.

The only ranking that matters is the one at the end of the season...some might say that there's more pressure on the number 1 ranked team which affects some teams and not others....it depends really. Either way I don't really care...just take it one game at a time

I'm not sure I'd put the Texas at 2. If I was voting the Texans would be, at the highest, 4. But it doesn't really matter anyway where they are in these sorts of things. All that matters is the score at the end of a playoff game.

They are treating our loss to Green Bay as an abberration and will continue to do so until we prove otherwise. Hopefully that doesn't happen this week. A lot of talking heads have put a lot of time into praising the Texans. Nobody wants to look like they were fooled (again) but make no mistake about it. If we fall flat on our faces and get destroyed by Baltimore the exodus will begin.

This brings up a good point. Teams can change as often as weekly so the power ratings don't mean **** anyway except to those who live for the ratings, make the ratings, and sell commercial time and web space to display the ratings. LOL

I will remain firm that we should to be no less than #2 (I think we're #1 despite Atlanta)... Sunday night was deflating but Schaub was due to lose one. I'm fine with it.

After last sundays game against our first big test I would put us at no higher than #7. I do not feel near as confident in this seasons team as I did last seasons. I have felt that since game 1. Hopefully I'm wrong but I think this teams in big trouble.

I feel the opposite. I feel much more confident this year. This loss to me was just as bad as the Raiders loss last year, but in my opinion that one was worse. We're still trying to get into a flow, but we beat up on some bad football teams last year when we were really on a roll. The 2 close games we won during that streak were games that went down to the last drive albeit without our starting QB.

This game to me is the kick in the gut that we needed. No one likes to lose, but I'd rather lose getting blown out than lose a game like Oakland last year when we knew we were the superior team and threw up on ourselves. These types of games are much easier to bounce back from.

Agree. I'm surprised that we are ranked that high after the Packers game.

I think the Texans are a top 10 team. Not hating, it's just I'd like to see us play against some of the other NFC teams. Like the Seahawks, Falcons, and Giants.

I was hoping they would be MUCH lower, anger inducing low, so low that the media could do nothing but slap them around and anger them more.

I want to see that anger taken out on the Ravens, power ratings mean nothing, especially after the embarrassment that was GB.

The AP NFL power rankings had the Texans falling to fourth.

    Falcons
    Giants
    Ravens (IIRC)
    Texans
    Niners

    *EDIT*
    But who gives a shiyte?

What ONE week can make such a difference. SI presents some disturbing stats.
