I know that I am jumping way ahead here but that is what I say.
we don't even know if we'll win nine this season. in the offseason there are gonna be like twenty threads and polls that ask us to predict our record next season..
We will have nine trust me.
What are you gary, that guy from Back to the Future with the sports book?
I don't think our team is to the point that we can just show up and win yet...
Can't a guy have wishful thinking around here?
I'm just sayin'...
If we've never won 11, 12 or 13 games before, let alone 9, maybe we shouldn't be counting the chickens before they hatch.
8-8 last season and every season should improve by at least two or three games.
Well we kind of backdoored our way into 8 wins last year, kind of doing the same thing this year to maybe get to 9 wins...Winning 11 or 13 games is a team that came to play from day 1, not the 5th week of the season.
I am with you Gary, as long as the team does not over look we will have 9 wins.
I will not comment on next year until I know the cause for my Texans not having a better record is gone.
Timekiller not to throw a monkey in your wrench but after the first 7 games of the season the Colts and the Texans were 3-4.
We should already have eight wins but Sage lost one for us.
If we go 9-7 this year, I won't consider it improvement. Not when we basically threw our season away at 3-7.
No chicken counting here. I'm looking at legitimate trend data and am anxiously awaiting the Texans' undefeated season in 2012.
Problem is, according to the Mayans the world will end at about the same time.
Exactly - Take three of our games this season: first Jacksonville game, first Colts game and the Dolphins game. All of those games are one or two plays (or a coin flip) from being all wins or all losses. This year we took 1/3 of those close games, maybe next year we take 2/3 or 3/3. We are talking about a 9-7 season, but it is not like this team wasn't capable of winning 11.
I never believed it before, but after this season, I buy the argument that there is very little difference between a 7-9 team and a 9-7 team. I would argue that there is a bigger gap between a 9-7 team and a 11-5 team, but not a lot.
Still it is when you win your last six games to do it.
perhaps you aren't old enough to remember that we went from 7-9 in '04 to 2-14 in '05...
Nobody is likely to get to 13 this year. It's certainly a stretch to put us there next year.
Lost to the Vickings because of tounovers in the red zone and not so great D. Had a a chance to beat the Colts in Indy the D had a let down and then Sage throws an INT at the end that is two more games right there.
Why not start a little early!?
I'm with you gary. 9 wins this year. Next year I can see us with 10 or 11 wins and making a WC spot. Playoffs baby!
Does not happen very often.
The two are most likely related. the texans go undefeated, causing chaos in the universe. worm holes start opening up all over the place and eventually all becomes naught and we're all sent back to the beginning.
