What has not been revealed is exactly HOW this system will be used.......i.e., what criteria will be applied to what actions.

Here us some material on the Riddell Revolution IQ HIT helmet.

This technology has been around since the early 2000s. The company which developed it was acquired by Riddell in 2004. By 2006, Riddell was already supplying these football helmets to Virginia Tech, the University of Minnesota, the University of Oklahoma, and the University of North Carolina........but it wasn't until 2010, that the NFL even brought the subject up. And here it is 2012, the NFL and the NFLPA are bickering about its use by its players.

A great VIDEO of the technology and research behind the Riddell Revolution IQ HIT helmet.

FYI, while the normal Revolution helmet will cost ~$250-$300, the HIT helmet runs ~$1100.

Geez, if the NFLPA & NFL can't agree on how it will be used,

At least put the system in place a.s.a.p. and start collecting data.
