Boy, I can hardly wait. I'm getting goosebumps all over just thinking about what promises to be a hard fought slugfest between two evenly matched, and highly talented football teams, with our almightly and glorius Texans emerging victorious, and handing Indianapolis the first defeat of the season.

And . . . oh yeah, Dwight Freeney will be completely stymied by our highly talented, fast, and quick offensive line, allowing David Carr plenty of time to throw for over 400 yards, including 5 TD passes, and no interceptions.

:heh: :heh: As Ron White likes to say, "It's enough to make you go bleeeah"

On the bright side, Mathis has more sacks than Freeney. Dwight is washed up. Hey what a minute...now we have to worry about blocking both ends...

Can wait to see what the line is on this game. Either way I am going to put money on the Colts to cover the spread, even if it's a 30 point spread

I hope the coaches still stubbornly hold Wand out for another week - he doesn't deserve to be thrust in to face Freeney after being jacked around this season.

    To set up the question:

Wand was widely criticized last year for not being able to block Dwight Freeney, which in retrospect puts him in a group that includes all of the left tackles in the league.

As near as I can tell, last year Wand gave up 3 sacks to Freeny and allowed Freeney to nail Carr just after passing on another occasion. This is over the course of 2 games. Last year the Texans left Wand one-on-one with Dwight almost exclusively; this year the Texans have started to use tight end help, which proved effective against Seattle (depending on which tight end they used.

So, how many sacks will Freeney get next week given that we have fixed the "problem" of Wand at left tackle with a combination of a journeyman right tackle, moving our left guard, and double teaming with Bruener, our blocking tight end?

Colts at home on national TV tonight, expect them to be at their best. Then
a short week of practice before traveling to play a game against a team that
will be almost impossable for them to get excited about playing.
I dunno.....what will the Texans attitude be this Sunday after total humiliation last night. Might be just the time to take the points, and they may be considerable.

Not sure whether to give or take the points?

    Rewatch last night's game, and it'll be a no-brainer.

The real question...do the Texans win ANY game this season? Nothing they've done this season has given me any inspiration. Zero. They move the ball a few times on a dinky pass or every now and then someone overpursues and DD gets some nice yards, but honestly a HS team could pull off a couple of plays by the end of the game.

Honestly iv'e never doubted we'd win a game but this one we will lose. E.J will eat our defense up on the run and Peyton will most likely pick our secondary apart while our offense falls suspect to a much improved colts D.

They haven't given me any reason whatsoever to think they could. And now, injuries are starting to take it's toll. What really has been depressing is that they have, up to the Seattle game, been relatively injury free. Compared to earlier seasons, they've gotten off light. And the injuries from now on will continue to pile up.

So I believe the unthinkable is getting pretty close to thinkable. We could go 0-16.

It's still October. They have another ten weeks to prepare for San Fran. If they start working the O-line now - who knows? The Texans might have a chance.

In 2002 Freeney got 2 sacks total in 2 games with Pitts at LT and in 2003 Freeney got 1 sack in 2 games with Pitts at LT.

Interesting. This may show, more than anything else, how two more years of that good Texan coaching effects Pitts.

So Pitts goes from 2 to 1 sack; if Wand makes the same improvement going into his second year he goes from 3 to 1.5. Not much difference.

Hi guys...Colts fan here...I come in peace.

This post outlines what scares me the most. Colts get all geared up for tonight's game, short week, and on the road against a team that has NOTHING to lose, and getting madder by the minute.

I will be at the game. I bought tickets to treat my brother in law who is a HUGE Texans fan. We will be there cheering on our teams, and probably jaw jacking at each other a bit, but all in fun.

I am wondering if any more changes will be in place by next Sunday...I can't imagine the coaching staff keeping their jobs too much longer.

Good luck to the Texans, anyway...other than the 2 games against the Colts, they are my second favorite team. This season has me shaking my head, though. It's a frustrating thing to watch.
