One way to get a focus on who the Texans will look at on April 29th, is the actual depth chart. If you take a look at the players the Texans brought in, via FA, and the players they currently had, the Texans may be poised to suprise everyone and take D'Brick or stay with Bush. Reasons are, the amount of money paid in FA for DE's, and they can pick up depth in the draft second and third round. They currently have 5 DT's on the roster all whom they can rotate behind Smith and Payne. I really can't see the Texans plugging that much $$$ on the D-line with Smith, Johnson, Payne, and Williams, it would be outrageous!! Not to mention Babin and Peek rotating on different situations. Here are the DE's on the roster: Anthony Weaver- Starter Johnson- Starter moved from the inside Jason Babin- Depth/situational from LB Ndukwe Kalu- Depth Jason Davis - depth Elliott Harris- Depth Here are the DT starters Payne and Smith As for Tackle, the numbers are limited. The Texans may suprise all, trade down and pick up Virginia's finest. I would prefer not and draft Miami's tackle Eric Winston with the second pick, but it could happen. Already though, there is alot of cash on the o-line, bringing in Flanagan, Wade received a huge contract last season, McKinney brings it in, and Pitts will be up to make cash next season. The logical choice at this point, then reamins with the Texans sticking with Bush, playing with Davis for one year, then using Davis as trade bait next year or even this year for that matter. This will give them more flexible options cap wise for the future, especially if Carr doesn't work out. Then you could look for the Texans to do whatever they can to pick up Brady Quinn next season! Hopefully, we will never have to think about this position again......I look forward to a SB victory in 08' and again in '10. I'll take the 09' season off, due to the city being imploded and destroyed with victory parties!!!
