Yup...a buddy and I already booked our flight and reserved a room at the Renaissance Hotel for that Monday night....it's practically in the Gillette Stadium parking lot, but is about $500 for a room on game night. And we are still in "sticker shock" at the prices on StubHub, so we haven't yet purchased our tickets.....we'll hopefully do that this weekend.

I'm sure there will be a gathering of Texans fans on Saturday or Sunday before the game.. We'll be staying in downtown Boston Sat/Sun night, but will be hanging around Patriot Place near Gillette Stadium on game day. Hopefully we'll meet other Texans fans in downtown Boston on Saturday night.

.I'm going to watch this forum to see...sure there will be more people planning trips to Boston in the coming weeks.

EFF the Patriots!!! I had no problem with them until the played the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII here in Houston. Their fans actually turned out to be extreme asshats!!! So much so that I found myself pulling for the Carolina Panthers!!!

EFF a bunch of Patriots!!!!

Let me know if y'all have questions about Boston. I don't know Foxborough but can help with the city
So we need to find things to do Saturday and Sunday. Would you recommend a particular hotel downtown? We would like to go pub crawling Sat and Sun night, so is downtown the best place to stay? Or is there a better place for that sort of activity? Keep in mind that we'll be on foot and hailing cabs the whole trip!

Downtown is a great area. Cabs and subways are the way to go out here, so thats a great idea. Subways stop at 1am and getting a cab at 2am can be a pain, so just keep that in mind haha.

There are a lot of great hotels on the harbor that are really nice and convenient to a lot of spots. There are also some nice hotels (Parker house for instance) on the freedom trail, which will give you access to more of the "historic" type boston bars. Then theres places like The Liberty Hotel which is an awesome hotel and also has an awesome bar right inside.

Hey thanks for the tip! We booked at the Liberty Hotel after looking at their website.

I just purchased my flight to Boston. Can't wait!!! Well, I can wait since it will be freaking cold in December.

I will be there from Saturday until Tuesday morning. I am opening to some TexansTalk pub crawls on Saturday and Sunday.

GTexan- What are some good seafood restaurants? Is there a certain area that the young hip professionals hang? I would like to check out the "dressed up" bar scene on Saturday night.

I've got a friend who is a seafood buyer for a lot of the restaurants downtown. I'll ask him who he recommends and get back to you on it.

As for the dressed up bar scene, the historic parts of downtown and around the financial areas are probably a good bet. There are some really nice bars over there.

Ive heard this place is nice: http://drinkfortpoint.com/

Liberty is also awesome. http://www.libertyhotel.com/food_and_drink/liberty_bar.html

Also the prudential/newbury area is really nice (lots of upscale spits around Newbury st) and the beacon hill area

4 of us will be going as well. None have ever been to Boston so we're soaking all this in. Looks like everyone will be all over the place but if we could settle on a place before the game that would be cool. Do they tailgate there or is it more like an entertainment/ complex area people go to (similar to New Orleans) before the game? I'm going post something on the Pats' message board, you usually get good feedback that way. GO TEXANS!

Cool the 4 of us are set to go. We are looking to go out on Saturday, hit up some drinking establishments, maybe bar hop. I've been reading the recommendations here and will investigate further. If anyone else wants to join up let's do it.

Two of us are going and we're Boston virgins as well. My understanding is that they do tailgate, but there are several bars in Patriot Place that we could all meet up at if preferred. Please do post on here any information you find on tailgating, etc. I don't know if they do or not or how welcoming they are of away fans tailgating.....need to do more research! Really looking forward to being in Gillette on Monday night (minus the cold weather, of course)

I too am a virgin visiting Boston for the first time, and will be attending the game. I would like if all of us would meet in one spot. Take over a bar or something, and show out Texans our support! Anyone know if any of the players will be hanging out somewhere or where they will be staying? Maybe we can pay them a visit! I'm just SUPER excited about this game......can't wait!

Texans fans- on game day let's meet at CBS Scene located on the grounds of Gillete Stadium. It's inside their entertainment complex Patriot Place. I called them and they said they'd be more than happy to have us there. Here are the links to both places (Patriot Place & CBS Scene) to check out for yourself. LET'S TAKE OVER THIS BAR!!!

There are 4 of us going to Boston for MNF!! Just booked a inexpensive hotel within walking distance to Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market. The hotel is Harborside Inn. The queen room we got is very small, but....your not hardly in your room when traveling, so this one worked out for us. Would love to meet up with some Texan fans and do a pub crawl Sat and Sun nights!! We could all possibly meet up at Faneuil Hall Sat night or Sunday or both?? Many pubs around the area within walking distance. Have read about meeting up at 'CBS Scene' at Gillette Monday, so we will plan on going as well to hook up with Texan fans. Only issue is transportation to Gillette. I know that there is a train that runs on gameday, roundtrip for 15 bucks. It gets there at 7:40pm and returns 30 minutes after the game is over. We wanted to arrive a little earlier to Gillette and have a few drinks before heading to game. Any suggestions on transportation to Gillette??? I am part of "Blue 242" Tailgaters in the Blue lot!!!

My wife and I are traveling up to the game as well. We are actually flying into Providence as it is much closer to Gillette Stadium than Boston is. Its only a 20 min drive to the stadium. We are flying on Southwest, fares are pretty cheap. We just booked a hotel in Providence for like 60 bucks a night. Finally got tickets to the game, we are in section 236 Row 2... From what I read on the Texans website, they will be wearing their white jerseys with the deep steel blue pants.. Anyone tailgating?? We flew up for Jets/Texans game earlier this season and tailgating the Texans fans put on was amazing compared to the Jets fans...

We have a group of 6 Texans fans traveling to this game. We have found a service called Bowl Bus that picks you up from Boston South Station and takes you to the stadium and back after the game for ~$30 depending on when you book:

Great deal to get you to the stadium and back again!

Are the plans to meet up at CBS Scene still on for Monday? Would love to get together with some other fans...

Half the groups is at the Hilton and the others at the Marriott Copley Place. Hope we can hang out with other fellow Texans fans....

Cool and thanks for the info, we'll take advantage of this for sure. And yes, we're still on for CBS. Be sure to arrive early, they say it gets packed and will refuse entry after capacity is reached.

Five of us goin up. I'm driving up as I love road trips. Others in my group are flyin up to Hartford ct. On continental only 213 round trip. Only an hour and a half from the stadium and like 30 mins to Foxwoods casino which is the biggest casino in America. Want to texans pub crawl in Boston over the weekend, and defiantly tailgate with other Texan fans. I have been up there a couple of times and have a good friend that has lived there his whole life, so can help with the places we need to go

We are staying close to PVD airport because we arrive so late on Sunday Night and leave early early on Tuesday morning.

We got our tix from a ticket broker in Boston, they had a better selection than stubhub for about the same prices.

Everyone without a room booked or a room booked outside of downtown Boston, omni hotels are having a deal this weekend only. You can book a room right smack in the middle of downtown at the omni Parker house hotel for only $99 a night using corporate code "CYBER". There are two subway stations nearby and very close to all the historic bars and right across the street from the state house. Also, this is the birth place of Boston cream pie

Thank you, just booked a room for Friday-Tuesday. Got my game tickets ordered too.

How many other people are doing the Bowl Bus thing? I'd like to know how many other Texans fans will be on the ride before I order... I didn't like riding the blue line in Chicago since I was one of 2 Texans fans on the train for about an hour.

From the facebook group and other sources it seems there's quite a few ppl goin on it. I'm still debating taking it or just driving my vehicle to the stadium. I've researched and have counted out the train that runs directly to Gillette. Yes its only 15 bucks but it only gets you there right before the game and gotta leave right after. Also who has any ideas for what we should do. I was thinking about one of the many brewery tours, maybe a picture with the Paul revere statue with a sign saying "the Texans are coming".

Well I called Bowl Bus to ask them a question and during our conversation the rep mentioned having to get an extra bus b/c of bookings by Texans fans...guessing it's quite a few. It gets you there 3.5 hours before kickoff, has music, bring alcohol aboard and bathrooms??!!! Can't beat that!

Fun fact: It was just announced that Boston's SantaCon will be Saturday, December 8th....so there will be a lot of drunk people in Santa and elf costumes crawling the pubs on that night in downtown Boston.

I went to the Texans/Bengals (regular season) game last year and it happened to be the weekend of Cincinatti's SantaCon. Was a lot of fun, actually.

Parker house is a great place.
If you like US political history, its basically full of stuff about the Kennedys
They also claim to have invented the Boston Cream Pie (they have a great one)
Their restaurant is really good
And its right on the freedom trail

I need to get in on the facebook page. Can u guys add me? My email is chriswiggin@ymail.com, also if we all take the Bowl Bus let's consider going to the CBS One bar and take it over BEFORE the game. Like make it a meeting place. Then take a group picture once we all show up. Just a suggestion.
