That freaking sucks! He was the most productive on our DL other than Mario. :(

Could of used him, but I'm guessing they didn't have enough $ to keep him.

That sucks, I really liked Anderson and thought he had the size and speed to make a really good WOLB.

We put the tender on him before the lockout, but after the new CBA was made, all tenders on 5 year+ vets were nullified. He became an unrestricted free agent.

I would be very concerned about our lack of experience at OLB, afterall who's really played there at all when you consider Mario & Barwin & rookie Brooks have all basically been 4-3 DEs, except that our D-Cord is Wade Phillips.
Phillips apparently seems to feel these guys are enough to be the playmakers at the most important positon in the 3-4 defense, and if it were anybody but him I'd be very nervous.

Take a look at tackles on the DL.

    1. Amobi Okoye -- 44 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 FR
    2. Antonio Smith -- 38 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 PD, 1 FF
    3. Shaun Cody -- 38 tackles, 0 sacks
    4. Mario Williams -- 28 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 2 PD, 1 FF
    5. Earl Mitchell -- 27 tackles, 1 sack
    6. Mark Anderson -- 21 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 PD

It all depends on how you look at it.

Personally, I think Anderson came in and in limited time, did a lot of good work. If he'd been with us the whole year, he probably would have had 8-10 sacks.

    I really wanted Anderson back.

With your stats above, I'm very surprised he mentioned Cody. How in the hell is he still on this freaking squad?

And you are right about Anderson. If we had him for a full season, he would of produced very well. Surprised we never had him in our future plans....

Looks like we should have gotten rid of smith and Cody and kept amobi.

Kubiak said they wanted him back and I think they even tendered him but it was nullified by the new CBA.

I don't think Anderson wanted to be here, or maybe the texans weren't offering enough.

Maybe after they drafted reed he figured his chances at playing time had gone down significantly.

They have quite a bit of money tied up in the lb corps. I think that this just wasn't the right time for both parties. NE needs a pass rushing olb so he's a good fit there.
