MVP Alexander out indefinitely with cracked bone in foot

    KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) -- Last month, Shaun Alexander sat in a golf cart, surveyed the empty field of Seahawks training camp and mused about his goals for this season.

    "How about we get 40 touchdowns?" the NFL record holder with 28 last season said with a straight face. "That'd be cool."

    Now, that'd be miraculous.

    Last year's league MVP has a broken left foot, and is out for at least a couple of weeks, perhaps more. He was on crutches Monday at team headquarters -- instead of the center of the Seahawks' game plan for Sunday night's showdown at fellow unbeaten Chicago.

    Seattle coach Mike Holmgren said Monday that a bone scan revealed Alexander sustained a "small crack" and "displaced fracture" on a non-weight-bearing foot bone sometime during the Seahawks' 42-30 win over the New York Giants on Sunday...(cont)

    The curse continues. I sure hop they never put the entire Texans team on there. Can you even imagine what would happen?
