The best team in football, atleast in the playoff season when it counts
the most, is the NY Giants and they have a grand total of 1 ("one") player on the Pro-Bowl roster, and he's not even a starter.
On the other hand the Pats and Cowboys have 7 and 8 starters respectively
    along with numerous reserves.
So much for the validity of the selection process of the annual NFL all-star game.

Best team doesn't necessarily have the best players.

I'll take a Super Bowl Championship over a team with a bunch of Pro Bowlers any day. Cowboys fans can enjoy this coming Sunday, I enjoyed last Sunday.

    Its true.

The Cowboys have a ton of Pro Bowl talent players....who cant bring it together to make a great team.

The Giants have a bunch of talented players (and a few Pro Bowl talents) who put it all together and made a great team.

Not to disrespect what the giants have done this year. They remind me of the Steelers a few years back. Talented team that got on a streak at the right time.

The pro Bowl has NEVER been about the post season. It's about rewarding players who had a great regular season... and even snubbing some more deserving individuals.

Agreed! I think he's even on the proverbial "hot seat" with Dallas fans. It's just another example of how the Pro Bowl's becoming more of a joke than it has been.:elle:

The Pro Bowl is supposed to be a fan event, but when the fans vote on who gets in they kill it every year.

I'd have to think if it were only the fans choosing the players, it'd be more ledit. I think it's the other 2/3 that screw the pooch. :)

    I dont know about that.

A million Cowboys get in every year cuz the fans vote them in, not the media, coaches, or players.

The fans also snubbed Mario, if you remember.

IMO, Mario wasn't snubbed. The majority of his sack numbers came at the end of the year. There's no doubt he had a good year, but it's hard to say he was snubbed.

    Agree to disagree.

Thats fine. Every fan gets their own vote.

My thing is that he was 2nd in the AFC in sacks & he wasnt even in like the top 6 in voting.

Ya i'm pretty sure fan voting was over before the Bronco game where he racked up the sacks. If voting had been after that the outcome would probably be different.

Mario will mostly likely go to the Pro Bowl next year for last season's performance. That's the way it works most of the time.

I've never put much stock into the Pro Bowl. It is usually a very boring game, and it's more of a popularity contest than anything else.

I'm glad Fred Taylor finally got the recognition he deserves, tho'.

IIRC, the voting deadline was December 12. It was on Tuesday right after the Bucs game. He had 8.5 sacks going into week 14. Not bad, but not PB material.

    vs Bucs- 1 sack
    vs Broncos- 3.5 sacks
    vs Indy- 1 sack
    vs Jags- 0 sacks

I agree on all points. :)
