    Who's going to replace Hank?

Who would you like to see & what song?

I'd like to see Black Label Society do something with Still Born

Or even Ozzy doing something with Crazy Train.......

I don't think they have fired him and don't think they will. They officially only pulled the intro for one game. Maybe there will be 1-2 more.

I can imagine the lawsuit iof they were to fire him - Violation of the First Amendment of the US Constitution.

How does ESPN firing Hank Jr violate the first amendment? The first amendment is a restriction on the government, not citizens or private businesses etc...

Had ole Hank Jr used "Hatfields and McCoys", it would have been no news (or Taylors and Suttons for a bloody Texas feud)... There's just something about dropping the name Hitler that draws more attention, and mostly negative...

I do understand that Hank Jr wasn't calling Obama Hitler and all, but he doesn't have a right to that MNF gig, and ESPN/ABC has a right to fire him/whatever..

Helluva a run he had there, and i love his closing statement in the post above... But he's ignorant if he feels the first amendment's toes have been stepped on here... Stick to what you do and know best, Hank...

It was simply a dumbass remark to invoke Hitler in any sort of way. There is nothing light about industrial genocide where millions of men, women, and children were systematically executed. I understand context and how the public may have misconstrued his remarks, but I still think it's just dumb to bring Hitler into a discussion as any sort of reference. That's why the term Godwin's Law even exists on the internet.

I support Jr.'s right to say what he wants (even in disagreement), but I also support a company's right to protect it's brand.

Exactly, you can say what you want when you want, but you better be ready to take responsibility for your own actions and if people don't like it or your company doesn't like it well then, prepare for the response.

See Dixie Chicks as an example..

They didn't fire him. They're just giving him the Dr. Laura / Don Imus treatment.
All you Hank fans, don't worry. The evidence would show that being a white
racist on the air will get you a new contract, for more pay, once you sit out for a few weeks.

Even Colbert got props after he disrespected President Obama, on the air,
    in person.

    Hank's gonna make BANK.

So if a person disrespects Obama he's a Racist?

If I disrespect you, using references to Socialist oppressors...... would I be racist?

How 'bout if I just disrespect you?

Is it possible that I simply don't have any respect for you regardless what your racial make-up is?

I don't know who they'll replace him with, but count me among the seemingly precious few that can't stand Faith Hill. If I wanted to hear a Joan Jett intro to SNF, I'd want to hear it from Joan Jett. If I wanted Faith Hill, I would have wanted pseudo-pop almost sorta kinda country (in which case, just loan me a pistol, please).

Give me someone real, whoever it is. But I suppose that's probably too much to ask.

Hmmm.. Looks like you're refusing to look any deeper than surface level,
and thus, we will not agree on the context necessary to take this conversation
    further.

    My comments in "bold."

At what point did Hank say something that was truly racist?

Hank, in invoking Hitler, just failed the minimum IQ test to be on MNF... and that's a pretty low bar.

Actors & entertainers need to stick to what they do and stop trying to push political agendas they have no experience with. [IMG]Stars[IMG] don't live the lives on your average 9-to-5 or laid-off American.

Was time for a new MNF song anyway.

    Who's next? (no pun intended)
