fwiw i dont see it happening. i dont see how this would slip out after following the texans non-sources the last few yrs.

imo the only way something like this gets out is if they allow it to... say if they were really targetting a certain mr miller with a trade up and didnt want to alert the many other 3-4 teams like the cards & browns to the possibility of taking him

    Houston trades:
    #11 overall pick
    2011 3rd Rounder
    2012 2nd Rounder
    DT Amobi Okoye

to move to #2 or #3 overall

would that move be good enough for both parties? any more than that, I would just stand pat and draft BPA and spend the coin on Aso.

Funny thing is if they hadn't won that meaningless game at the end of the year, they could have had a shot at him at their natural slot or at least saved a lot of trade bait to move up.

Nobody will be willing to take future draft choices in THIS draft due to the uncertainty. The Texans would have to give up (at least) their 2011 3rd rounder to move up 4+ spots.

Petersen is going to go Top4 almost assuredly. That is 7 spots.

Not so sure on that. Miller looks Top 3 but there are many recent mocks with Peterson slipping to #6 and #7. Even guys like Champ, Deion and Rod Woodson..all considered top athletes of drafts..didn't go Top 5. Teams like D-line and pass rush more.

On a side note I kept hearing the Cowboys have him as #1 on their board and want him badly. But last week there was also a rumor that the Rams at #14 wanted Dallas' spot at 9. The rumored offer was at least a 3rd. If it takes "at least a 3rd" to get from 14 to 9 than it is going to take more than a 3rd to get from 11 to the Top 5-6

BS flies around more than ever this close to the draft. I wouldn't put a penny's worth of stock towards anything said right now.

Agree. There was a tweet by one of the big scout guys on twitter and he said right now 90% of what is said is smoke screen and that it wouldn't be prudent for teams to show anything.

Most likely from a team wanting to drive up the cost of their pick.

I can't see Peter King having any inside info from the Texans.

Esp in R. Smith years, they keep their draft stuff very in house.

Players can't be traded until a new CBA is agreed upon. so maybe replace Okoye with a 2012 4th or 5th rounder?

Hypothetically if Okoye's "trade value" is nothing but a 3rd day pick in next years' draft I'd just assume keep him and see what he can do with Wade. Say some 4-3 team calls us when the CBA is agreed to and asks for Okoye and that's all they offered, I'd say no.

Makes sense, since decisions made by coin flip tend to be rather unpredictable.:kitten:

They can be if the courts side with the players and lift the lockout.

I think I heard this on 610 in the morning today; Redskins are looking to trade down and given the Shanny and Kubiak connection, I wouldn't be surprised if a trade went down between those two teams.

I've never seen national media get any Texans draft predictions correct.

What if doing so meant getting one of the DBs from Washington?

Can't trade players so that would be a no-go.
