Ok. This is a far fetched idea. I'll give you that. You don't usually see trades, espeically involving starters in the season. So I'm thinking we are going after a RB in the offseason. Why not call SD right now. "Hey man unless you franchise Turner you're losing him next year. I'll give you a 4th rounder with considerations that could turn into a 3rd next year."

He's fast enough to make it in this league. He's big. He can make that one cut and run. He can catch. He can block.

    Just a thought.

If they lose him in free agency, they will get a 3rd or 4th round compensatory pick. So, it would take a 1st to get him- and I'm not willing to do that.

Not only that (losing a first for him),but I'm not wiling to even give up the third or the fourth. Will the second rounders wre appearing to be a low cost for Schuab we still have to conserve draft picks for next year, and add to that the 08 draft isgoing to be stocked at RB...No thanks.

Now if we can sign him in FA that's another story, but I'm still not sold on him yet. Playing behind a good line, behind LT, and for a coach who knows how to establish a runnig game (well, atleast up untill this year anyways) may have inflated is stats and value some. Now if Rick Smith were to come out and say we signed Turner and Smith is excited about the signing, then I'll get excited.

I dont see any way that scenario would take place. The whole compensatory picks calcuation considers net additions/subtractions during the FA period. Plus the guy was originally drafted in the 5th round.

I don't think it would take a first rounder to get him, but I cant see us trading for him either.

If we are going to wait till next year to upgrade the RB position, I would rather get a young stud out of the Draft. I tired of getting other teams rejects to try to upgrade that position. Lets get RAY RICE!:texflag:

Turner is a beast; big, physical, and nasty with break away speed. I would certainly be open to signing him as a FA. I would not trade for him because you can get him for nothing at the end of the year. I know there are alot of back available in 08, but signing MT would allow us to address either CB2, FS, SS or LT. I know Samuels will be available but will almost certainly demand BIG $$$.

Well Turner will probably be available in FA like everyone else is saying, so I really don't want him in a trade. I am not sure he is not quite as good as some people think he is. I don't think that we are in a position to trade draft picks either. We need all of our picks. I would not mind having him but breaking the bank for him would not make me a happy camper.

And there is no chance that Turner gets Franchised. That would be bad business. He would get the average of the top5 RB's saleries to sit the bench.

71 yds on 17 carries isn't sufficient for me to change my view on him

Might as well sign Sporles as well, because they are both just a product of the same O-Line that blocks for LT.

Give Gado that line, and he puts up similar numbers.
