    Ok...
I was in Missouri last year when the Texans FO brought in Dan Reeves to "evaluate" the team.

    What did he do exactly?

With the LIMITED access that I had, to ANYTHING Texans...I sort of figured that he was gonna be the head coach this year.

What was he brought in to do?
Did he have anything to do with hiring Kubiak?
Did he have anything to do with our draft picks this year?

Is it some sort of mystery???

I didn't get on the boards until MUCH later in the process...so I apologize in advance if this has been "discussed to death."

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse...just find out what he was supposed to do for the team.

Reeves was brought in as an "advisor" to McNair.

He was to come in, take a look at the coaches and all the players, and tlel McNair what was salvageable.

Apparently he said Capers and co. needed to go, that Carr had all the tools but needed the right coach, and that our biggest needs were x, y, and z (apparently pass rush was x).

Then he left, simple as that.

Reeves was brought in to determine if it was the chicken or the egg or both .

It was a mystery of not enough talent ( Casserley ) or bad coaching ( Capers ) . McNair ... I think did not know who to believe so he brought in Reeves to evaulate the situation .

Reeves I think thought that this could be my ticket back ... so he trashed the bad coaching ( boy who saw that coming ) . He also said that Casserley did an OK job considering he had to find players for a 3-4 defense ( this really slowed Dallas ) . He probably had some negative things also , like how can you blow so many 2nd and 3rd round picks .

Of course Bob ask ... Dan what about David ? Reeves with visions of coaching told Bob what he wanted to hear ... as far as QBs go he's one of them .

At the end of the day Reeves was sent back to the pasture , Capers was fired , Casserley Quit , and we resigned Carr .

Reeves came in and blamed the coaches and the team gave Carr an extension for 3 years. The new coaches come in and got rid of the players that weren't the problem according to Reeves. Methinks it was both.

HonoringEarl...i finally get your avatar..and omg its freakin hilarious

Now I know what has been the problem with Carr.....CARR IS DEREK ZOOLANDER

'blue steel' gaze in steel blue uni

that is some good stuff honoringearl...so who plays the role of Magatu or Hansel (that was his name right?)
Even in the NFL you would be hard pressed to find a player with a nose as screwed up as Owen Wilson's is. magatu would be easily cast as Al Davis.

If we could just play Relax for TV timeouts and give away free Orange Mocha Frappucinos to Wham! it may create an atmosphere that is more conducive to molding Kubiak's project like play-dough or cooke dough.

Yup, and have Right Said Fred come out and really get the crowd into a lathering frenzy. That will help David get more into a Zoolander frame of mind. Have Madonna and her harem right alonside George Herbert Bush as our token celebrity fans...do runway shoots DURING the game...you know, just to keep things all loosey goosey

To me it is...we never got the skinny on what actually went on behind closed doors.

That's why it's still a mystery to me...strange scenes inside the gold mine.
