Last night on the Texans' Web site there was a series of statements from Mark Bruener that are no longer there and they were very interesting. I will say it to the best of my recollection and see if any one else can find them or remember them. They go against the grain of Vinney and anyone else who is a Carr hater if I could loosely use that word. I wouldn't say hater. I would say they don't think Carr has the tools to be a QB. To begin with the following was stated: 1) In the 1st half because they feared the Cardinal blitzs Carr was given a great deal of lattitude in calling plays on the field and at the line. 2) He did a great job in READING THE DEFENSES and called an outstanding game in the 1st half. Bruener was extremely complimentary of Carr in this regard. 3) Pendry took over in the 2nd half and we almost lost the game. Carr was not given the liberty of doing the play calling in the 2nd half. Again this did appear on the Web site and I can no longer find it. It does answer the question perhaps so many of us have been asking and that is does Carr have the ability to do the job. Number 2 it really does imply that the micromanaging the game by the coaches is killing us. Number 3 the game on the field looks different from the one in the press box. What the QB sees and can deliver on is very different from what one sees from ahigh. Finally is Carr really a much better QB, but has never been given the ability to call his game just like Payton. I'm not saying it would be a Payton job, but calling a game he and the team would be comfortible with based on their abilities.
