On ESPN, now
Give us the scoop!!!
I only caught the last few seconds. He talked about how he dealt with all the smack that was talked about him being the #1 pick, and he picked the Giants to win the SuperTazon.
did he talk about getting snubbed from the pro bowl?
HE PICKED THE G MEN..... THATA BABY MARIO!!!
I like the outside the box thinking, it is still 11 on 11......
as much as people wanna say the pats will win, I wouldnt touch a bet on this game with a 10 foot pole.....
no, just got asked anout being a #1 pick, and how he dealt with all the crap in 6 different forms of questioning.
figures, jim rome is an ass.
I like the pre-ESPN Rome more but I still like the guy's show. Dude works hard at his job.
I only caught the tail end of it, but he did say he appreciated the Texans sticking by him during all of the criticism he took as a result of the 2006 draft.
I dont think he likes ESPN too much, i really have no idea, but he works out of LA and has alot of FSN guys on his shows....
Mario comes off like a great guy.
Needs a new shirt though. That was the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
Did Rome call him Mary ?
HAHAHA, reminds you of the punk he can be, still the same kid.....
Everytime I see that I can't help but think, how much freakin' work has Rome had done, or how much time does he spend in a tanning bed. Seriously, it barely sounds like him and barely looks like him......maybe it is "Chris Rome".
Not so at all, certainly not on his Mario interview.
Rome was very gracious, suggesting the media including himself owed Mario
a collective apology for their criticism of the Texans decision to take him instead of Bush or VY in the 2006 Draft.
And they had the Mario interview at the very beginning of the show with ample highlight footage of Marios best plays from last season.
And Rome introduced Mario as a second-team All-Pro guy and didn't bug him about getting snubbed (if that's the appropriate term?) in the Pro-Bowl selection process.
Rome was very classy in his interview of Mario and quite frankly made an apparent effot to promote him IMO.
Gotta' give Rome credit where it's due. He manned up and admitted to Mario that he was wrong, and that's all you can ask from these sports show guys.
Rome usually has pretty decent interviews, even if they're a little on the kissass side of things. Dan Patrick is one to ask the tough questions..sometimes I wonder if he even cares about burning bridges.
Hopefully Mario remembers his first season and uses it to stoke his inner fire. It sounds like the dude needs outside motivation by all accounts, so I don't want him to let his guard down this next season.
He did mention how he's making an extra effort to spend alot of time with Amobi in hopes that he'll have a breakout year next season like he did.
Rather listen to Shawn and John now a days (2-4), Rome is so '90s.
I don't know much about the situation, but isn't that why he's no longer with ESPN? If anyone knows more, please fill me in but from the little I know, Patrick was tired of the BSPN.
