The question that has been brought up with his elevation to the active roster
..........will he only play at STs or will he appear as a WR. This could answer the question..........from a non-Texas-generated article.

Wonder how strong the Yates-Maehl timing is.

I hope they go to him often in the next three weeks. Yates needs a third guy he can depend on (apart from O.D. & K.W.) and I'm no longer thinking J.J. is that guy.

Let's face it, they cut Mason because he sucked bonzos. At least Maehl is young and hopefully his better days are in front of him. Didn't he set some sort of combine record? 3 cone I think? That tells me he's got the ability to get open and good hands is something our WR corps need desperately. Maybe he can turn into our version of Lance Moore and just run quick slants all friggin day.

Agree completely, although, J.J. clearly scares defenders, look at the PI he drew against PacMan to put us on the goal line with 8 seconds left. No way does the defender do that in that situation unless he's scared shitless of the reciever.

JJ needs to remain in as a decoy and you still need to let him turn on the burners for a deep target a few times per game because it changes the D's mentality and eventually one has got to connect.

Maehl seems like a good David Anderson replacement in many ways, not physically gifted but he must have a sound knowledge of the playbook and sure hands for them to promote him from the PS.

If he does play, he may be the first Paradise High grad to ever play a regular-season down in the NFL.
    ***************
This place is totally devoted to Maehl. I remember when we we signed him
as a FA this past summer after he failed to get drafted in April and the lockout
was finally resolved, well the story of his signing hit this little paper in Paradise
immediately and I guarantee you every dish in that small northern California
city will be focused on the feed for the Texans-Panthers 10:05 AM Sunday kickoff (local time).
    Thanks for the article C&D.

If he's playing for Kubiak he's playing special teams.

I hope he gets some good snaps at WR too. I was really excited when we signed him and think he's got a ton of potential on a team like us.

Remember this kid from the college championship game last year vs Cam &
Auburn ? He was like a latter-day Fred Biletnikoff ("hands of glue").

Kubiak should just line him up and let him play because because at this point there is more to gain and nothing to lose at this point.

I was a big Maehl fan when he was in Oregon. He's a quick guy with great hands. I'm not saying he'll be the next Wes Welker, but I think he has a similar skill set. I hope he sees the field on offense, because I think he'll be a huge improvement over Mason.
