ESPN reported on Sports Center that OSU Head Coach Les Miles has accepted the Head Coaching position at LSU. Here's the story.

i don't know what to say about the hire. their were some big names thrown out but none of them were interseting. hopfully he can get the offense rolling. atleast he is coming in on a year that we have a lot of young talent and we don't need to have a strong recruiting class because i don't think he can talk the guys into coming, maybe he will bring some guys that were interested in osu. only time will tell.

Interesting. His team just got smoked at their bowl game and he gets the biggest job out there in college football.

Kirk Ferentz would've probably been the best coach for LSU, but Iowa locked him up by extending his contract recently. After Petrino withdrew his name from the LSU coaching search I don't think there was many canidates left other than Les Miles.

    That's good stuff.

Coaches with NFL backgrounds that have aspirations for returning to the NFL (see Butch Davis) will always be dangerous hires.
