Trying to look at the Texans going forward in a positive light.

    1) We get the 1-1 draft pick, in the sport where getting that slot is the most meaningful. (i.e. not the Astros, where you draft the guy and won't see him in the majors for half a decade). Texans can easily improve in one area big time with this pick. Texans have pulled out some great drafts in the past, so I'm confident they can find 3-4 contributors for next year's team.

    2) We get a new head coach. While this could go either way, a new coach is going to bring a lot of enthusiasm and new energy to a team that BADLY needs it. As it's been pointed out in a few articles, the Texans head coaching job is highly sought after. Chances are the Texans will get the guy they want (O'Brien, Lovie Smith, Wisenhunt?) to fill this position.

    3) 2014 schedule at first look looks easy. Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Oakland, Dallas and the New York Giants on the road...Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Philadelphia and Washington at home. Only 3 teams are in the playoffs currently. If the Texans wanted to turn it around in a hurry, next year's schedule will definitely help.

we need to get rid of rick how don't see how u can bring in a new Coach like lovie or esp Bill and not expect them to want there own GM of there liking not someone from the old regime

and we have to go full blown Rebuild this quick fix thing is not going to work and if we try and do it Next season im lookin at 5 wins at best type of team

Jags went full blown rebuild heck al the teams in our divison have done it Jags and colts more so then titans but

to think we are better then them and don't have to do that is a fraud

I don't think that a coach has a ton of say in the GM, unless he's someone with a lot of prestige and keeping him is more important than anything else.

5 wins at best though? That's all for next season? Given that we are playing only 3 teams that were in the playoffs this year? Then again we did go 2-14 this season...

Just my negative mindedness coming out:

    At home:

Indianapolis: just won our division, easily.
    Jacksonville: swept us this year.
Tennessee: second in our division this year and just beat us.
Cleveland: Ok, maybe we win this one....next year.
Pittsburgh: fairly recent Superbowl winner and one-time dynasty.
Oakland: Ok, we might beat them at home. Maybe.
Dallas: very nearly won their division this year.
    Giants: recent Superbowl winner....twice.

    On the road:

Indianapolis: WE HAVE NEVER WON THERE...
    Jacksonville: swept us this year.
    Tennessee: Again? Sheesh.
Baltimore: won the Superbowl last year after beating the team we choked on.
    Cincinatti: just won their division.
Buffalo: Mario has his one good game of the year.
    Philadelphia: just won their division.
Washington: RGIII all over McCain and K-Jax.

There ya have it: 2-14, LOL. :fans:

We can still choose a QB next year! :spin:

I think we need to kick Indy out of our division. They are not a "south" team. It's the AFC South. We can't play well in the north. Let's trade them for the Browns. :)

I am glad that, with the exception of a couple strongholds, the Keenum wars are largely over.

    Wait, what??!?!?

    The bright side is this?

We more than likely won't go 1-15 next season????

Than again, NO GUARANTEES. Let's not match the Lions 0-16 season........ Please!

Last year the Colts were 11-5, with 5 wins either in OT or by 3 points or less playing a last place schedule thanks to 2-14 the year before. It was a general consensus that they got lucky a lot last year, no pun intended. They were then blown out in their one playoff game.

This year they were 11-5, having four wins against the two worst teams in the NFL and winning a weak division. They were 5-5 against teams not in the AFC South. They entered the bye week at 5-2 having beat SF, Seattle and Denver. Since the bye week, five of their six wins have been against Houston, Jax and Tennessee. They have one quality win against KC and were blown out in their three losses.

They are favored by a point - at home - against the Chiefs this weekend. I don't see them getting by them a second time. They played their best football at the beginning of the season.

Just saying that 22-10 over two years, with getting to the playoffs and winning a division title sounds suspiciously like the 2011-12 Texans. And Luck's stats as a QB look a whole lot more like Schaub than like Manning.

Indy has beaten Seattle, Denver, KC, and San Fransisco, arguably the best 4 teams in football. Our Texans never had that many impressive wins in a season.
