But wait I thought the McNairs were “carpetbaggers” who “don’t care about championships just selling tickets” and were “cheap a$$ owners”. So now it was Gaine that wasn’t spending money and Cal didn’t like that.

Dear Lord man you could give politicians a run for their money on flip flopping and changing narrative to fit current views. It truly is impressive to see. Honestly I feel like I should be applauding.

O'Brien just needs to find someone new to blame every year and he'll be coach indefinitely.

I guess everyone is gonna blame Gaine when the OL sucks again

No I blame Devlin for that and I blame BoB for keeping Devlin as the Oline coach.

Maybe Gaine was being cheap and Cletus fired him for that.

With a new GM, he may spend some $$$$. Gotta stay positive.

There's no flopping, I've just been told I need to be more positive so I'm trying to bring a little koolaid to each and every post. The McNair's actions over the last 17 yrs speak loud and clear for themselves.

This is Gaine's draft and FAs. This is crazy to fire him at this point.

Mess big time. The man was doing great

Other than your narrative on who was responsible being wrong you should be doing backflips. By all appearances Gaine is getting canned for being too passive, not using the resources at his disposal.

Get over being wrong on who was the culprit and look at the signal. The McNairs are eating a huge sum of money to get someone more aggressive.

The abruptness of it all does make a person wonder what happened.

Could it be that maybe Cal didn't agree with Gaines house cleaning in the scouting dept?

Really doubt that's it. It was either off-field stuff... ( domestic violence maybe?) that hasn't come to light yet or he tried to naysay (or not keep Cal informed imo

I'm not saying AJ wouldn't because he did when called. Fu@kin Capers wanted to use him as an outside RB. But Irvin was the pre-AJ. He played WR like a LB playing WR, "this is MY ball!!." Absolutely no care for consequence.

When AJ was drafted I said we just got a bigger faster Irvin.

Not endorsing his life but as a WR he was a hoss.

Pretty good in the remake of longest yard too.

Damn, we’re turning into the Browns.

Let’s fire the HC and GM every two seasons. That’s a recipe for success....

I disagree I think he could have drafted Greedy Williams, Byron Murphy, Rock ya sin , Trayvon Mullen or Greg Little number 23 and still got Howard and Scharping in the second round. As no one took an offensive lineman from 55 to 86, Scharping taken there. So

1.23 CB Murphy, Sin, Mullen or Greedy all better than Lonnie J. Many would say Greg Little here better than Howard.
    2.54 Titus Howard
2.55 RB,OLB or DE like Zac Allen?
    3.86 Scharping

GMs supposed to have a good idea what the other 31 teams are going to draft. I think Gaines failed miserably.

Agree with everything except you leaving Josh Jacobs out. You know, the guy taken #24.

Obviously I liked him and we have no knowledge but owners like bell cow RBs. It's as good a theory as any other.

I listed Jacobs in my first quick research for that post and unfortunately left him off when I actually posted it but thoroughly agree with you. Either one of the Alabama running backs would have been great especially for number four.

Maybe Cal introduced BG to the swingers club & Brian didn't appreciate what Cal brought to the party.
