Wow, big trade. Lelie is just what the Falcons need.

Guess we're not getting TJ Duckett. Can't say I care.

Skins must be worried about Portis.

This IS George Steinbrenner. Err...Dan Snyder.

I think they lost one of their backups, but I don't remember.

This looks like a no impact deal on all sides of the deal. I mean there is some good talent in there, but Duckett is still going to be a #2 in Washington and Lelie is going to be no higher than a #3 WR in Atlanta considering they are really high on Rody White and Michael Jenkins. Green Bay got a 2nd for Walker, and Denver gets a 3rd for Lelie. I think Denver gets the best end of this deal but each team gets some help and nobody really gets a bad end.

I wonder if the Falcons are picking up Lelie's fine tab? With fines and the payback of bonus he is down about 800K. Without the bonus it's about 300K.

The Broncos definitely got the better end of this deal. The Redskins just gave up valuable picks for a insurance policy, bad deal.

The falcons just added depth to their WR core, but took out the thunder to their lightning and hindered their ability to pick up valuable tough yards.

Broncos get great compensation for a malcontent WR. I wouldn't be surprised if those turn out to be high 3rd and 4th round picks, I think Brunell overachieved last year, as well as the skins as a whole.

Its funny that a couple of seasons ago Edge and Alexander were both on the market for what was rumored to be as low as a 3rd round pick and yet the Redskins pay a third and a fourth, Denver made off like bandits, they now have ammo to make some serious moves in the draft, they have a excellent front office, I hope Kubiak and Smith took notes

The Falcons liked their new rookie rinning back(Jerome Harrison?) and felt TJ Duckett was trade bait they could use to fill up holes.

opps sorry, I misread the post, its late and has been a long day. In that case it looks like a pretty fair trade all the way across the board. If its a third the Broncos get the edge, if its a fourth......its pretty balanced.

What is it with Snyder always giving away picks though.

It's a 3rd and a 4th, with the pics changing with Ducketts stats.

& they just picked up some trade ammo.........

remember how they traded up to get Cutler, after having all the draft analyst convinced they wanted to give away their picks...... because they couldn't afford them.

    Your right. From ESPN: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2558101

And they could escalate. That is crazy. The Broncos are making out like bandits on this deal.

The other thing the Broncos got was that if they finish better than the Skins where they are picking lower in the draft, then they swap spots. Broncos then move up the draft board to the higher pick. All in all, the Broncos did well, real well.

Didn't the Redskins trade their 4th round pick to the Niners in the Brandon Lloyd deal?
