A **** ton. Luckily the Texans are one of the most cap friendly teams next year with about 60M in space, But ... HUGE BUT .. Bell has already been making subliminal suggestions - liking tweets on the Colts media sites because Indy has TWICE the cap space we do. Indy could pay him the most out of anyone and not even bat an eyelash. To me that would be worst case - having to match up against Luck, TY Hilton AND Leveon Bell twice a year.

He turned down 5 years 70Ms from Pitt so the offers would start in that area I would presume. I would do 4yrs 68Ms with team friendly incentives.

    $68 mil per spotrac.

As for Indy, any time you see a team with that much cap space they have major & many players they will lose or need to re-sign.

Don't see the Texans signing Bell though.

Because of the finances or because 'he's going to get hurt again' ?

If the market is $17 mil it's just too much. The franchise tag this year was $11.8 mil. That ballpark OK, but not much more.

    1. That was one season 2. he would not be expected to have that many in Houston with Miller here and if Miller gone a back up would be found to share...I would hope.

I agree he made a poor business decision; should have grabbed the reported $19 m guaranteed and five year 70 m

How does signing Bell have anything to do with Oline as no decent FA will be there and you can draft OLINE in all rounds if you want. Don't understand your comment? Second sentence cool but not the first.

ReaDing comprehension is your friend. TOUCHES...not carries buddy. He caught the ball a ton in those years too.

300 carries for a RB is high... 300 touches.. is that really that much? I mean in Houston sure, our RBs would be over worked with a dozen catches a season.

But league wide, that's about what the top backs do huh?

You made a great case for Bell.

Conner has done basically the same thing Bell does this yr.

The $$$$ would be spent elsewhere. IMHO

How about using that $$$$ to fix the CB position and add Ingram/draft a RB or both. Miller is doing an acceptable job this yr, wouldn't you agree?

Not all touches are created equal.

When did 300 touches get to be a heavy load? Emmitt Smith had over 300 carries 8 times. Walter Payton had over 300 carries 10 times. Barry Sanders had over 300 carries 7 times. LT had over 300 carries 7 times.

If Bell wants to be paid like a big dog he can play like one.

Correct. RBs can be found relatively cheap as we're reminded year after year. Allocate resources ($$/draft picks) to positions that don't grow on trees (OL/CB).

I haven’t looked at the numbers so I couldn’t tell u about league avgs.....but Arian at his peak had a season or 2 with high volumes of carries and receptions like that at around the same age and he was broke down within 2 years..

I don’t disagree...but the game was different for most of the guys u named above.

These days, HC’s shy away from letting their main guys tote the rock 300 plus times...

You dont spend that kind of $$$$ unless you're fetting a Payton/Smith etc....

I dont see Bell as a HOF'er, do you?
