It's almost as if I'd rather read how they suck balls so I can be pleasantly surprised during the regular season, rather than chucking beer cans at my kids when they screw the pooch.

No, I knew that. The standards for being a "professional" journalist, or at least editor, are going by the wayside. Anyway, carry on with the thread.

I've always viewed sports blogs like they are a diary for the journalist. The editors don't really hold up such standards for that stuff as they do actual pieces where the reporter is presenting facts. Hell you can see the difference in a Justice blog piece and a piece he'll do that will actually be shown in the papers (Like the recent USO story he did which was well done, I hate to admit). More accessability = less standards so it's a tradeoff. Kuharsky's blog stuff though is still lightyears ahead of 3/4ths of anything the paid guys at the Chron puts out.

Welcome to the world of "blogs." Still a good read, however.

On radio 610 this morning Mark V. said Schaub looked precision sharp and he was impressed with Dan O. Also named a couple TEs looking good. Still not much info yet.

What is interesting to me about the kicker battle is if both of them have a good camp, who gets the job since we all know it was not untill game day when they have both messed up before?

Well contract wise I believe it would be better to go with Brown because we are paying him so much and we wouldn't want to eat his contract. I don't know the specifics on that so I could be wrong.

Good question Gary. Probably will allow both to kick during training camp for a while. I do believe once Gary has made up his mind, he will let the other go to try out for other teams due to respect for the vet.

It won't be Gary's fault if he chooses the best kicker at the time and then he folds during the season IMO.
