In a day where a record number of field goal attempts were missed along with extra points, 2nd year undrafted Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn deserves mention and credit as most valuable player not named Hopkins or Watson. Just so very proud of him, coming to Houston via Kailua Hawaii and UCLA Bruins in pressure situations over and over when the offense failed to score in the red zone. Certainly deserves his own thread and least mentioned among the great performances this past Sunday night. First day I had a chance to watch NFL games all day and it got to the point for some of those losing attempts I couldn't bear to watch kickers fail (other than Graham Gano 63 yard winning FG). Texans are very lucky to have one of the best young kicker in the NFL

Well done Fairbairn, you deserve a lot of credit for this win. Tied for league lead w/13fg and ranked #1 overall after week 5 on NFL.com

Both of the specialists are adding value to the team.

First time in a while I haven't had dread when the Texans kicker lines up.

Ur apology should be as loud as Ur disrespect was
Not perfect, but still has the most points by kicker in the league. Bright spot for sure. Hope he can extend his range with time.

Trevor Daniel has had some nice kicks lately, but overall his season is not that good so far.

I was curious so I looked it up last night. He is 17 out of 24 in kick percentage over the last year. He's 80.3%. Am I missing something? If he had made the other kick then he wouldn't have had to make the one at the end in OT

If we did better than going 1 for 6 in the redzone we wouldn't have had to go to OT either. He is a young kicker, young kickers will make mistakes you just don't want them to do it in big time situations, and he hasn't so far. 1 game winning FGs in OT gives optimism

Abyssmally low percentage.

His only misses this year are 48, 54 and 59 yards which isn't bad on 16 attempts. The total percentage isn't great, but not too bad for a second year player. Hopefully he can continue to tweak and become a bit more consistent on the longer attempts, because he seems to have plenty of leg.

I got no complaints on Fairbairn …. He's got plenty of leg and has been about as accurate as you can expect from a young kicker. He should only get better.

How many teams even give their kicker a shot from 59 ? He's hit a couple that would have been good from 69.

Both the kicker and punter are more than competent …. now if they could quit giving up fake punt TD's and stop blocking in the back on punt returns ….. the special teams might actually be special.

Timing has looked off on his longer kicks this year, idk why but every long kick he has had it just hasn't looked right.

Fairbairn is on my fantasy team. I had to use him because I know that the Texans have issues in the red zone and his leg will be called upon a lot.
