You can keep one or the other. Who do you choose?
First of all, that's nowhere close to being a real scenario. Watt is locked up on a first round contract for quite some time and he will be regardless what happens with Mario.
But in your completely unrealistic, hypothetical ... Watt. Interior penetration is much harder to come by and is very important. Edge rushers are somewhat easier to get, even if you can't get one of Mario's caliber. Watt is going to be a force for a long time.
Both, I'd let Arian or some other O player walk before giving either of them up.
Our only healthy offensive weapon? Really?
Long term I would.
RBs have a much shorter shelf life than defensive players and I believe you need talent on D more than O because scheme makes more of a difference on O.
Instead of Mario losing weight to play OLB, if he maintained/gained 10 or so pounds, he and Watts would crazy good as 3-4 ends with BArwin and Reed as 3-4 OLBs.
Speaking of 3-4 ends, what on earth happened to Smith once Mario got injured.
Let's cut him and use his money to pay Arian.
I may be changing my vote. I think outside pass rushers are more valuable, but I've never seen Mario take over a game the way JJ Watt has as a rookie.
& I love me some Mario.
Here's a Kareem thread if you're looking for one.
Mario, as DE or OLB... in 3-4 or 4-3.
A far superior athlete and football player.
Still thinking about what could've been with Mario at DE and Aldon Smith at OLB... that 2nd round pick could've been used on Torrey Smith.
Sorry guys there is no way in hell I keep Mario over Watt. Just my opinion.
Or just Watt.
You can't be serious... please just stop posting and give your mom the computer back...
Uh how long have I been preaching this?????
Do you even watch the games???? He was playing hurt for a long time and has been playing great for the last few weeks.
Watt and it ain't even close.
JJ Watt.. Our best defensive player for the next 10 years.
