    I was just thinking:
Why don't we keep David Carr this year and really work on our O-line. We all know that one key of succesful Olines is reps, so why not concentrate and solidify our oline with choices like Levi Brown, Justin blaylock, and a solid Center?
I thinki this could be a good idea for a couple of reasons:

    1. We have to solidify our Oline. We have been saying for years how we need to do it, so lets do it.

    2. David Carr: if Carr is our guy and we pay him all that $, shouldnt we at least protect the guy. He might not be the best guy, but I would rather see him earn his pay on the field than sitting on the bench after breaking something after our swiss cheese line lets someone through.

    3. David Carr: if Carr is not our guy then lets build up our line so that the next guy doesnt become Carr 2.0. An o line takes time to mesh so lets put it together now, so that when our new QB gets here, he has to worry about learnign the system and not worrying about the pass rushers.

    What are your thoughts?

i totally agree, cause if we get a new QB now, he will be ruined "like most say he is" just like Carr is, so what would be the point until we resolve or O-Line issues ?

exactly. If you want to get a new QB, why subject him to an inferior Oline. Build your Oline, then get your new QB.

If you have read any of my posts you would know I have been saying this until I'm blue in the face. Its nice for someone else to pick up on the fact. I have stated from day 1 that has been our problem, but management continues to ignore it. Oh, well, all I know is the O-line is another year older and there are not many young studs on it. I think we are really in very bad shape as far as the O-line is concerned.....

Make a three way trade with Andre Johnson. Net two solid guards and a TE.

Solid meaning two guys that can start 16 games without falling apart ( like Chandler's cousin Flanagan, 11 years and 2 full seasons... krikey ). The extra TE can make the team a primary Ace package and nullify the costs/need of a franchise LT. Draft a late round speedster WR out of SWAC.

Use TEs on the flats and middle, WRs primary stretch, TEs in the middle mixed with ZBS running game should do the trick and be within Carr's sphere of control.

Dave leads the new year's parade Jan 1 2008 for Houston's first winning season and postseason appearance in 15 years.

Trade Andre Johnson? OK, let me think about this for a minute.....

Better idea: let's trade Andre Johnson, Dunta Robinson and DeMeco Ryans to the New England Patriots so maybe they take it easy on us next year and not show the NFL how unbelievably underachieving our Texans are.

that IS pretty funny though. What if we also traded Mario Williams to the Titans for Kerry Collins? David can be a solid #4 QB behind Kerry Collins, the caveman from the GEICO commercials, and myself.

the difference though is you are getting nothing in return.

I am trading a guy that we are not really using to any great effect, nor can be that effective without a line. Two to three guys that can play 16 games solves more problems then it creates by losing one offensive option.

Trading Carr would not net you two to three journymen. Johnson could.

Here is an NPR interview with Michael Lewis' (the guy who wrote "Moneyball") book "The Blind Side" I came across yesterday. Of course I instantly thought of the Texans: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6241687

You blind supporters.....thats the problem! The Texans keeps him at QB every year and he doesn't produce whats so ever.:aikido: The team needs something new......a new producer!
