Do you have a link? The Ravens just signed Mike Anderson to a year deal.

The Ravens must be planning on running the football 50 times a game. Afterall, Kyle Boller is still their starting QB. lol

LEWIS CONTRACT REALLY A ONE-YEAR DEAL

A league source tells us that the three-year deal to which running back Jamal Lewis has agreed in Baltimore is really a one-year deal, given the presence of a sizeable option bonus due in 2007.

As a practical matter, then, it's a one-year, $6 million deal. He gets $5 million to sign and a $1 million base salary for 2006.

Absent a monster year, we're told that the team won't be picking up the option for 2007 and 2008.

This is a dirty way of signing players. This must stop. I know Peyton Manning, Donovan McNabb, and any other high-cost players will not have the money promised when they signed the deal. GMs try to get the players to have backloaded contracts that allow teams to pay the players a low salary and cut them when the money is about to come in.
