That is just confusing. Who actually supports this? I think I'm going to check out the Panther's boards. They've got to be TICKED right now.

Folks on the Panthers board are calling it a cap move?

What a terrible move, he had a horrible season last year and isn't he just a year removed from Tommy John surgery?

I saw that. How is a 5 year 40 million dollar deal a cap move?

I am no cap expert by any means, but I can remember playing Madden back in the day and having a franchise...When you sign players to longer deals it makes less of a cap hit (but if said player ends up being a dud) you are stuck with that money going against your cap for a long time...Same thing with bonus money...Pay more money up front and it makes the cap hit less sometimes...So I dunno...

I also saw where one of their posters was basically saying that no deal in the NFL is guaranteed and they can still cut him if he doesn't pan out even if they have to take a hit.

    I'm with everyone else, I don't get it ?
If you would have told me right after his performance vs the Cardinals in the playoffs that he was going to get a new deal which included 20 million guaranteed I would have said "get real".
