Arizona State versus Rutgers Just did not watch this one as closely as some of the others. Good news is that the best players in the game were at positions pretty easy to watch and still get some impressions.

    Rutgers

Brian Leonard FB/RB 6'2 235 (jr)- Very impressive RB. Catches the ball, shows speed and power. Blocks in both the running and passing game. One of the more complete backs in the nation. From what I have seen in the correct system he could be a RB. If teams expected more from the FB than to be a glorified OG, then he would have real value. Assume 2nd or 3rd rounder if out this year, but could move up in 2007 if he looks like he is a RB and not a FB.

Clark Harris TE 6'6 250 (jr)- made good catches and showed some ability after the catch. Think he should stick around and compete in a draft class not so loaded in 2007. Don’t think he is elite but 3rd -5th rounder with upside for 2007.

Ryan Hart QB-6'2 200 shows good overall accuracy. Arm did not look really strong and made questionable decisions at times. FA type of player.

Tres Moses WR 5'10 191- productive small WR. Made good adjustment on the ball. Speed/quickness looked ok, but not special. Late round/FA type. He will have show return skills most likely to get a real shot in the league.

Ryan Neil- DE 6'3 260- put consistent pressure on the QB and caused one fumble. A hustle player who did not look his listed height nor to have great speed. Draftable late.

    Arizona State

Derek Hagan WR 6'2 195 - outstanding hands and body control. Speed looks like enough, but not great. Appears to be the type of guy to drop a bit because he does not have crazy measurable, but wind up having good careers as outstanding number 2 or underrated number 1 WR. 1st rounder who could come in do some things right away.

Zach Miller TE 6'4 250 (soph)- Caught the ball well and had some ability after the catch. Not as dominate in this game as reputation, but seems to have the tools to be a first day TE.

Andrew Carnahan ORT (jr) 6'8 297- tall offensive tackle who played hurt and still showed good movement. Watch for 2007 draft.

I liked Leonard. The FB tag has helped him generate some hype, but may hurt his draft status as it is lowest paid position in the NFL

Appreciate your threads on the bowls AT.

  3. I missed most of the game last night but there is a LB from ASU, #44 Robinson, that I had a chance to see last year in the Sun Bowl, he impressed me a lot with his motor and effort in getting to the ball, I was wondering if anyone caught him this game?

I believe that he went out in the 2nd quarter due to injury.
