He's our third WR. It's his job to be out there.
It's preseason, save them for the games that matter.
Just noone ***** when they start slow if starters don't play. This crap happens, players need to play a little
Not O’Brien’s job to know the answer to that question..
I'd rather start the season healthy and worry about it taking a series or two to get back into it than start fast but have key players lost for significant time. I'd play no one of substance short of some rookies who may/may not be counted upon.
Y'all are acting like we had DeAndre Hopkins out there in the 4th Qtr of a preseason game down by three scores.
Keke is our third receiver & he got hurt in the 2nd Qtr.
If anything a silver lining if BO'b hadn't figured he needs to figure out how to win games without Keke before today, hopefully he understands now.
Competing to be the punt returner
Exactly starters need to play a little.. Not returning 3 punts and getting targets all the way into the second quarter of the first preseason game.
He doesn't play the same position as Hopkins.. He's a starter or starting receiver in the slot.. He's not just a "3rd string WR".
It was a dumbass decision by our coaching staff to expose him as long as they did in game 1 and put him in the high injury risk situations that they did tonight.
God I hope not..
I don't have a problem with him returning punts here or there when we need a big play this year, but designated main punt returner. I hope not.
Wish doc was here but this is the best I can find per rotoworld:
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Keke Coutee has been diagnosed with a "not major" ankle injury.
We can only hope, but we need to wait for additional sources before considering Coutee out of the woods. Coutee did post, then delete, an encouraging update on social media. Even a minor ankle issue could hold Coutee out for the rest of the preseason.

Nobody has anything to report on Greg Mancz ?
He pretty much sucks? And is injury prone?
Sounds like He's Nick Martin's doppelganger.
I disagree. I know his injury is a fluke, because he was rolled up on, but he should not have still been playing. There is a log jam at WR for the 4th and 5th spot. Those young guys should have been playing. Our top 3 wideouts should not be returning kicks. The offense is too explosive with them on the field, you need to minimize their risks. That extra 5 yards on punts and kicks on average is worth nothing if they are injured and hamper our offense.
There have been many star players return kicks in the NFL. Nothing wrong with WR3 doing it. Just unlucky.
& he wasn't injured returning a kick.
Texans did that last preseason and got wasted by your gang for not giving the starters enough preseason touches. Go look.paradigm shift this year? Keke is still basically a rookie. He needs touches and if he can’t play early into the second qtr there are problems. Btw, D Carter is our return specialist and maybe as good in the slot as Keke. Injuries can happen to anyone at anytime. You are actually implying you can plan around injuries otherwise it is OB’s fault....again? Webb played an incredibly courageous game last night only to get wasted by your gang. He played entire game, ran, took hits and came out injury free. It’s called football.
But OB sucks?
Wasn't aware I was in a gang unless we're talking about Red Dead Redemption 2. Even then, it wasn't my gang, it was Dutch's.
I've been consistent on playing no one of substance in preseason games. Unless they're a rookie, it's dumb to play them in games that don't matter. Lose one game by starting slow or risk losing 3-4 games because a key contributor got hurt in preseason. I'll take the early season L in favor of health.
And yes, it is Bill's fault for keeping Coutee in the 2nd quarter of preseason game number one. Coutee looked electric when he played last year. The problem was he couldn't stay healthy. There's no upside to playing him in a preseason game that long (or at all). The offense sucked when he didn't play after Fuller went down. There's no upside to him getting the **** kicked out of him in preseason.
Likewise, I have not mentioned a thing about Joe Webb as I didn't see the game, only the clip of Coutee getting hurt. As I said last night, I was working. That said, I hope Webb plays every preseason snap. Rather he take the pointless hits than Deshaun.
Now I've got to run, hopefully my "gang" (whoever the f that is) can keep it together while I'm gone.
