Foreman has been activated off the pup list and has been placed on the 53 man.
O'Brien related that Foreman is still working to get into football and “contact shape.” He said the team wanted to bring him back in the hope that "eventually he can help us win a game."
Better late then never.
Exactly. Bell should be better than Miller stat wise for sure. IIRC, Miller 2019 last contract year. What if he does what Bell did and sits out 19 or leaves as FA after? Texans have cap space for Bell and Miller
I really can't see Texans paying two high profile backs.
They drafted Foreman for that reason and if he is no good, I would not be surprised in the least if they dip fairly high up in the next draft again before they pay a premium for another frontline back.
I can see them paying for a Left tackle or CB though.
Nice try Doc...
why not? Miller looking pro bowl and Bell has been even better. There are no LT. Even if magically one popped out of a rabbit, we still have cap $. RBs can wear out faster than other spots. Use draft to get position not avail in FA. 100 million contract doesn't = player getting all. We should look for to replace Miller eventually and Blue sooner the better. Rotation on plays keeps guy longer.
Whoops..often I reply without looking
Is Emmanuel Sanders career pretty much over with the Achilles tear?
Achilles is hard to come back from at any position, but the WR is not as impossible a task as the RB. Michael Crabtree and our own Demaryious Thomas are comebacks with decent performance. But let's note that age is also a significant factor determining the prognosis with this type of injury................Crabtree was 25 when he sustained the injury and Thomas was 22.
Sanders is already 31, and like Dez Bryant at 30, his prognosis for a great outcome is not strong.
I wouldn't be against it - Bell and Miller back there would be a dangerous duo.
Can it happen this far into the season - I thought not..?
If they don't do it this season, there will be a bidding war in the off and Texans won't be party to that. Or they'll lose out to a higher bidder.
If they haven't done it yet, it won't happen.
And unfortunately some people just don't care at all.........see above post.
I was watching the Foreman highlights from that Arizona game last season the other day.
Think I'd mentally blocked out the second half of last season, I'd forgotten just how cruel that injury was.
Having a breakout day and clear to the endzone for his second touchdown and the defender takes him out with the token effort like that. Awful.
I'm really pulling for him to make it despite Doc's prognosis.
So am I.
Moving this to my thread on "contracts" to get out of injury thread.
Sure would be nice to have Coutee back he was huge in first meeting with Colts.
Coutee and Fuller V need to work out an alternating injury schedule so that at least of the two are available for every game.
Saw this on chron.com about Brennan Scarlett being put on IR: https://www.chron.com/sports/texans...carlett-IR-sign-Roderick-Johnson-13451993.php
Does anyone know what kind of "ankle injury" he has and does this mean he's done for the year?
