We have never had a coach that would try anything other than conservative by the book vanilla play calling. This has driven me crazy since the beginning of this franchise.

When the D is tee-ing off on our QB why not go no-huddle and change up the snap count to throw the defense off? When is the last time you seen our D fake a blitz? On the occasional third and long why not SHOW a full on blitz only to back it out at the last minute to try and confuse the offense. I'm sick of vanilla.

Im not asking to bring back the run & shoot or the 46 D but how about making the other side of the ball make some adjustments everyonce in awhile?

Well, we did drop Mario into coverage. That counts, right?

I have no problem with vanilla as long as it's really, really good kick-ass vanilla. Blue-bell, baybee.

Unfortunately, our vanilla has mostly been some tasteless, cheap generic vanilla.

Less vanilla on offense I agree with, especially regarding audibles and some hurry up offense, etc.

On D, I'd actually like to see some more vanilla, to tell the truth. I don't mean give up on the blitz. What I mean, for instance, is this crap of dropping back D Linemen isn't working. At this point I don't care if all teams do it, it ain't gonna work for us. I also mean that the D Line stunting is leaving huge gaps for RBs (or QBs) to just fly through while not making the pass rush (if it were a pass play) any better anyway. What's the point of stunting Weaver inside? You think he's gonna grow monster wings, blast through there, and coming flying into the QB? Let's at least limit the play calling to plays that our personnel might have a chance at succeeding at.

The only complexity this D needs is your normal LB blitzes (if you call that complexity) and not advertising exactly whether they will or will not blitz on every play.

In each of the last two games, at least one TD has been more the fault of our HC than our D. I just realized that our D is not actually giving up 30+ points per game, so it's not as bad as it looks (for the D, anyway). I still want a new DC.

Yeah, our best pass rusher should drop often, right...?

    I personally am sick of:

    3rd down, 8 to go.

Short pass for 5 yards. no gain.

    4th down.

I agree here. I just want good whether it is Blue Bell vanilla or Ben & Jerry's newest designer flavor.

there's something really satisfying about lining up and saying "we're going to run it here" and the defense knowing exactly what we're doing but we execute with more disipline and consistency and despite it's predictability, we run right through the defense.

    that's what we're going for.

vanilla is the best flavor of ice cream.

I think Demeco disagrees with you guys about the scheme:

    Vanilla or not...

What I'm tired of is guys not making plays they should make...Whether it's missed tackles that could have sealed a game, or dropped passes in the endzone...Guys have gotta start making those plays...
