Yes, Weeden is almost surely gone first, then its a question of any possible belief that OZ would be better next year than last. I say have a TC battle and see who wins out. You can cut OZ after June 1st if need be.

cutting OS would be a money thing can or will they do it. would have to crunch numbers $$ to see.IDK all the contract lingo except that its 74 mil 4 years and 32 mil for 2 years fir shir. Would they lose a year if cut which is 16 mil?

His cap hit would be the same for this year basically after June 1st (19M), but would be fhave a dead hit of 6 for next year according to overthecap. You would only do this if like Savage more.

jrad but if romo moves where ever it will be within around a month imo. so if its the texans then before jun 1st the roster would be OS savage and romo releasing weeden. but then the draft is in april

They can keep 4 qb's or more during camp, and only when the roster has to be trimmed to 53 will they have to make a decision on who to keep. Also you can designate a guy a june 1st cut before June 1st, so you actually don't have to wait till the date. I think the most likely scenario would be to go to camp with all of the guys and make the cuts accordingly.

Do y'all think Romo would come to the Texans on the cheap for a one year "prove it" contract? I would say that Denver offers him the best shot at a SB if Kubiak was still the coach, but I have no idea what Denver will look like under the new coaching staff. I think it was a big mistake by them to let Phillips go. Some continuity would've been nice on at least one side of the ball.

I could get behind a reasonable "prove it" contract for Romo and, if he does prove it, giving him a a 2-3 year market value contract.

I doubt that Romo will not have decent guaranteed money thrown at him by at least a couple of teams. And, again if the Texans do offer a "prove it" contract, he WILL go down and that will have taken all the important offseason/preseason and early season 1st team snaps from someone that could have developed..........leaving us the same situation for next year.

Tony Romo expects the Dallas Cowboys to release him.

Things are about to become interesting...

At 2:33, like everybody else, says the Texans are the best fit for Romo.

Pretty much if J.J. Watt returns to his dominating self and Romo stays healthy, then the Houston Texans become heavy Super Bowl favorites and they will knock out Tom Brady and the Patriots in the AFC in 2017.

Sure, he could probably start another 10 more season, then spend most of the rest of those seasons on crutches, in the hospital, in surgery and rehab................:crutch:

IMO, I think this is a fairly good short term risk/reward option. It isn't ideal, but buys a short term breathing room to develop a better solution while hopefully being a competitive team if we can have a bit of luck on Tony's' health. Obviously there is some risk in that, but the reward possibilities IMO make it worthwhile.

First off, I find it hard to believe that McNair would trade the face of the franchise, three time defensive player of the year, young in his prime, and possibly the best Defensive End in recent history for Tony Romo?

Trading Watt for Romo is not convenient for the Texans in any way! Now, I know a lot of people in Houston want to believe that we are just "A QB away" but we have more problems that need to be addressed before we can expect our anemic offense to not screw it up for our defense getting us there.

I am totally against a Watt for Romo trade!

There will be no trading anybody for Romo - he will be cut.
