DALLAS, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- The board of the Cotton Bowl Classic is considering relocating the site of the annual post-season college football game from Dallas to Arlington, Texas.

The Dallas Morning News said with Houston and its Reliant Stadium entering the bowl picture, those behind the Cotton Bowl must now decide whether the event should be moved to maintain its stature.

The group must decide by March if the Cotton Bowl will be relocated to the Dallas Cowboy's new stadium in the city of Arlington from its namesake home in Dallas.

The proposed move comes as the Cotton bowl is renegotiating its contract with the Big 12 and the southern conference and as Houston began overtures to host the bowl.

The board agreed to increase the Cotton Bowl payoff to each competing team by $500,000 for a total of $3.5 million.

Expect the Texas/OU game to move as well.

Bigger/Better stadium = bigger dollars = happier execs
