The Texans have put each phase of the team out on the field in the first quarter, and the result is pretty much the team's situation, distilled. The defense cannot stop even one of the lesser offenses in football, the offense cannot pick up a first down, the special teams couldn't put 11 men on the field, and the head coach/team got a delay of game penalty coming out of a timeout.

That shit should be submitted to failblog.org.

Unless something surprising happens today, we're on the way to a 3rd straight godawful performance at home. For a team who claims that they were contenders this season, that is absolutely unacceptable.

Oh, I'm sorry .... did that last drive encourage you much? 14-7 Chiefs. There's no overreaction at all. This team is exactly what it is - a poorly coached team with no secondary, no DTs, an inconsistent offense, and the same weaknesses we've all been harping on now for three seasons. Except for the pass rush. We've been harping on that for nine seasons now.

I am officially done defending Kubiak. This needs to be his last year.

I am beginning to sway off that kubiak bandwagon (even if we win this game)

    great guy

but..How many times does this team have to look uninspired and unprepared for a football game esp at home?

I just don't see a playoff team here and esp a super bowl team (as a whole)

LOL, let me add a deferment after the coin toss win to the list. That worked out great.

It's now 21-7, and I think I might be with you. I know every team is different, but there have been too many examples in the last few years of teams taking a lot less than 5 years to turn things around. I have been as big a defender of Kubiak as there is, but I'm beginning to think we need to go a different direction. Even if we don't have as much talent in reality as I think we do, the performances in the past 2 1/2 home games have been wretched and inexcusable.

The next draft needs to be exclusively DEFENSE.

Draft a TE in round 5 or 6 for all I care, since we know we need at least one each year due to injury bug.

But we need a DT in round 1. A guy who is nasty and mean and not a phony like Travis Johnson was. If we don't go DT, then go Free Safety and get a guy who can cover and ball-hawk.

Either way, grab the best scouted guy at one of those two positions please.

This defense needs either a round 1 DT or a round 1 FS. Hell, it needs BOTH.

We are terrible at drafting 1st round defensive talent apparently. So far we've got:

    Drob - off the team
    Okoye - bust
Babin - bust, off the team
    MWilliams - probowl
    Cushing - probowl, suspended though
    KBurnt - Ugh

Any I missed? We're feast or famine

I think we do best in 4th round. Lets trade all our picks for 4ths...
