While I do feel that others are deserving of making it as well, these jump out at me as being probable inductees this year.

In defense of all the others, each and every one of them are BETTER THAN VISTA.

Faulk & Sanders definitely this year; they were just voted as 1 of the nfl's top 100, deion somewhere in the 20 - 40 range i believe.

    as for the others:

Coryell just b/c he just died i believe & b/c of his influence on the game.

Dawson - token o-lineman of the group

Dent - token d-lineman of the group

& i'm calling it right now, Reed finally gets in over Carter.

Curtis Martin will get in, in my opinion in his first year of eligibility.

Then give one to DeBartolo for showing everyone how to treat it's players and to do everything first class. Sabol should get some love for NFL Films

Roaf, Doleman, and Tim Brown are close with Brown probably the closest

    Sorry Reed
NO BILLS ALLOWED...you, Beebe and Tasker can suck it

Brazile should absolutely be in! I think Guy should be in also.

I know a lot of people that don't think punters should qualify, but that dude was something special.

I wish we could kick people out of the Hall of Fame (George Blanda, Bobby Layne anyone?) because there are some people that got in and I don't know how.

Anyways, the bolded people on this list SHOULD get in at some point, not sure about the others.

I was following and agreeing with most of your post until the bolded. That shows a true lack of knowledge of the history of the game.

Really? You think Bobby Layne doesn't belong? Nor does George Blanda?

JB, I'm glad you mentioned Ray Guy, and where IS Dr Doom? He should be there.

Ok, hear me out and correct me if I'm wrong because I wasn't even born when these guys played. Bobby Layne may have had postseason success but how can you put a QB in the Hall of Fame who threw more career INTs than TDs?

As for George Blanda, yes he played until he was 300 years old but the man thre 40-something INTs in ONE SEASON! He doesn't have stats like QBs later on did and from what I've seen stats-wise there is nothing the impresses me.

Okay, maybe they DO deserve it because both QBs had postseason success and were icons of the game, but individually they had poor stats and were able to do what they did because of the players around them.

These are the players I think deserve to go in. Can't comment on the non-players.

I think to be in the HoF you need to have been the very best player in your position at some stage in your career and you need to have a degree of longevity in the game.

Edward DeBartolo, Jr.? Isnt he the owner that ran the 49er organization into the ground?

No crap man. Then when you see Willie Roaf's name on there, you sense how this is unjustified.

Not valid man. The Hall of Fame honors (as it should) people relative to their own era. Layne and Blanda were 2 of the best QBs of their era, so they are in.

I suggest watching some old time games, and seeing how the game was played back then. INTs were fairly common, as the WCO did not exist. When teams passed, they usually went for the gold.
